Re: Anyone afraid of not getting in?

I have felt this way while taking my prereqs classes. But don't be discouraged, there is a hope. I have applied to 3 schools and got accepted to 2 of them. Although the school I'm going to now is 70 mi away from my house I don't look at this as an obstacle. My advice is to apply to as many schools as you can and to be open and flexible and you will get in.

Don't be afraid. Your fear won't change the outcome of rejection or acceptance. Besides, I applied and was rejected the first time. I did not crumble up and die. I pressed on. I finished co-requisites, improved my application and points, started my RN-BSN pre-reqs and recently gained acceptance. Time flies when you are not sulking.

Re: Anyone afraid of not getting in?

I am right there with ya. I am applying to 3 schools for a May start in the program. I am worried sick. I know I need to be thinking about a back up plan in case I don't get in, but I don't want to do anything else!

Re: Anyone afraid of not getting in?

I am starting to get a lot more optomistic. I will have several good references, and I can honestly say that I really feel like I have as good of a chance as anyone. I will have an interview and my gpa is good, so I have a lot of hope.
I think confidence goes a long way, so try to have that confidence. Find out for sure what they are looking for, and do your best to get everything in order.
Best of luck to everyone applying.

By the way, I am in the same boat. I am only able to apply to one school also. Dont let that discourage you.

I'm not afraid either because I see the "competition" every day....I am currently doing better than a foreign MD in my class, makes me scratch my head. How some of those people in my class expect to get into those competitive programs is a mystery to me. You should think that at this level people would take studying more serious. Once I have my prerequisites completed I'll jsut turn it over to my higher power since everything will be out of my control at that point. If for some reason my grades are not good enough then so be it! My life will continue, I am a fairly happy and healthy person so I am sure if the door on nursing school closes another will open for me elsewhere

Re: Anyone afraid of not getting in?

I'm trying to remain optimistic, I only have one more class before I apply. Evan though I have a 4.0, I am not going to assume anything. In stead I have a back up plan to keep worling on co-requs and take a CNA class to get me comfortable in the clinicle setting. The timing of it all, I'm leaving to God.

Re: Anyone afraid of not getting in?

Same here. I will take Microbiology next semester at night and take a CNA class during the day. It will last for about 3 weeks. I am so excited about it all. I can see things starting to really happen now. I am going to orientation next Friday for a volunteer program at a hospital and I am really excited about that.
