Hey everyone! I'm just dropping in here to tell everyone that I started nursing school yesterday! First day was not too overwhelming (because we didn't start much on material yet...that's tomorrow!) I've got TONS of reading to do, and tomorrow I have lab for my Assessment class...I know that's when the real work will begin. And I have my fundamentals lab on Friday...which will be a "doosie". We have 6 weeks to test out on various skills (8 skills, actually) which include infection control, wound care, passing meds (both orally and through injections), bed making, NG tube, catheters, blood glucose checks...etc. I'm really excited to learn how to do all this stuff, but I'm SO nervous to actually do the post-tests and return demos. I am posting in here b/c I have been posting in this thread since the days of waiting for an acceptance letter back in February...it's kind of neat to do a "follow up" now...only a few months later. Hopefully by the end of July I will feel much more confident in my nursing skills. (That's the end of my 1st semester of NS). GOOD LUCK to everyone out there.
