I'm waiting to hear if I'm in...and our deadline for apps isn't even here yet!!! I am very fortunate that the program offered at my community college isn't very competetive-- the original deadline was April 1st and they've bumped it back tiwice now to May 9th because they do not have enough qualified applicants or applicants PERIOD! Last I heard, they only had 20 applicants for 30 LVN slots, hence the moved deadline until AFTER finals, so that students waiting to complete their pre-reqs will get 'points' for completion. After the 9th... its a long 30-45 day wait for the letter-- no emails or posting it to the school website :crying2: At our school, all NET scores, immunizations, and CPR certification, etc have to be submitted WITH the application. A waste of time and precious money if I don't make it (especially since I had to get my immunization re-done due to loosing the records in a house fire 2 years ago!). Good luck to all those waiting!

Erica, I believe it's safe to assume you'll get in if you met the requirements and they've extended the application time frame.
Lericalpoet, yikes, it's hard to believe even a perfect GPA won't get you in some places.

O, I hope you get into your first choice school. So frustrating and scary to hear that a 4.0 doesn't guarantee much.
I am supposed to hear from my 1st choice this week. I am getting so nervous, especially since I hard from my last choice lottery school that I didn't make it in.
I am beyond sweating bullets and am now just break out.

It's crazy. I feel like I'm on trail waiting for the jury to come back with a verdict. I try not to think about it, which of course doesn't work. Thank God for this site. It's the only place I can vent.
Thanks to everyone. I think it's great that we encourage each other. :an!:

OMG I would have LOOOOVED to have had a 4.0. I think mine is a 3.4, and people always give me the attitude like I'm one of those people who complain about getting an A- instead of an A. No, it's just that those people who aren't trying to get into a highly competitive program will not understand!
Even with a 4.0...good gravy...that's unbelievable!

LOL-- Well, you could move to Waco, Texas where I am, and go to community college, where the competition is nil! I am under the impression that you are applying for an ADN program, since ours here is also based on GPA (but only towards the pre-reqs. You could have a cummulative 2.0, but so long as you have higher grades for the pre-req courses, that's what they look at). Our ADN program is having trouble getting qualified applicants as well-- both programs have moved that deadline simutaniously. Despite being a community college, they offer a good program, evening course or daytime course, as well as a BSN transfer program and an LVN to RN bridge program. I find it so incredible that you are having trouble with such an amazing GPA! For once I guess I'm glad to be in this dang city, as there is no way I could make the cut anywhere else if you have yet to. Hang in there--- it will happen!

I have a friend who started the same semester I did working on her teacher degree. She graduated with her Bach degree last semester. Here's the deal she made some A's, B's and C's. She told me C's get degrees. She never stressed about making an A, or even a B. She never retook a class she got a B in to make it an A. She just made what she made (as long as it was passing) through her list of classes and graduated.
She couldn't believe I would retake a class I made a B in because I had to HAVE an A. Or that I would retake an entrance exam with an 85 to get a 90. Its because I had to have a 4.0, I had to have an A on the entrance exam, and then even then I wasn't sure I would get a spot in a program. It is insane!
