not really, teas has more content to it plus science and other materials, you might want to check a TEAS thread, since i am not familiar with it!

You are lucky you got it back so fast. I took mine on April 21st and I am still waiting.

I am so annoyed. It is my schools fault, though.

And congrats on passing!

Question Re: All About the NET

Hello everyone!

I am a "newbie". I am getting ready to start back to school this fall. I have a Paralegel degree but have been a SAHM for the last 9 yrs. The tech school that I went to accepted me into the RN program. I don't have to take an NET exam since I already have a degree through them. So some of my basic classes like English, PYS 1o1, and some humanities courses are already taken care of. When I spoke to an advisor on the phone she suggested I take a placement exam for my math since it has been a very long time. I am extremly nervous. I am trying to review, but not sure if the placement would cover the same as the NET or if it is more detailed and spread out. I will have to take a Math but I hope to not score so low that I have to take several math course before I can get up to the one that is required.
As I am reviewing the Net Math (thanks for posting the reviews) I feel as if I am so behind. I am amazed at what I have forgotten and feel dumb. In fact reviewing it, then going back over it the next day, I forgot it yet again.<sigh> I hope you all don't mind if I post some of the questions on the review that I just can't seem to get.

The is on one of the reviews- 18 - 3 1/3= 14 2/3

Every time I do it I get 15 2/3

This is what I do 18 3/3 -3 1/3 = 15 2/3

Here are some more

express 3/8 as a percentage

express 6:14 as a percentage

1.5/50%

Can you tell I am having problems with percentages?

Thank you for any help or suggestions you may have in advance!

here we go 18 -3 1/3 = 14 2/3
18 = 14 2/3 + 3 1/3
18 = 18
_____________________________________

express 3/8 as a percentage

3/8 = 1/8 +1/8 +1/8
***1/8 = 100/8 = 12.5 ***
3/8 = 12.5 x 3

3/8 = 37.5

_____________________________________
express 6:14 as a percentage

6:14

2 = 30% of 6
12 = 200% of 6
14 = 230% of 6

ALSO

14 = 100%
6 = X

14 X = 600

X = 600 /14
X = 42..8 per (per cent) lol!!!

anything else?

Re: All About the NET

Hi!

I wish I had found this thread/board a month ago!

I took my net on May 9th and passed with a composite 88. I was really nervous, so I was completely surprised!

I was able to get my results as soon as I clicked the last answer. I'm so glad I didn't have to wait.

I bought the Barron's Nursing Entrance Test Prep book. It was a big help, but I think I would have been fine if I had found the tips here.

I go to orientation on June 9th for the LPN evening program. I am planning to continue on after LPN school, if I make it that far.

Good luck to you all!

I didn't find the barron's book helpful at all. It had so much extra stuff in there that I didn't need to be focusing on. If you get a study guide get the one from the test maker... it was dead on with what you needed to focus on.

Although it didn't have any grammar pre-tests. I found going to ESL sites really helped me brush up on that. It was geared toward adults where some of the other sites I saw were for children... LOL

I have to agree with you on the Barron's. I think the only reason it did help me was because I took it with me when I signed up for the Net and had someone show me exactly what I needed to concentrate on.

I'm sure going over the whole book didn't hurt, but it really didn't help as far as the Net.

I just didn't want to pay the 33.00 for the Net prep book the school had to offer.
