It's not worth it. My local community college offers an NET prep course for only $25. You should look and see if the same is offered by your institution. Or you can do what I did, get a couple of NET study guides from the library and a book on how to do basic math "Basic Math and Pre-Algebra for Dummies". There is also testpreview.com. You should check out the beginning of this thread.

Re: All About the NET

I have another question for you guys who have recently taken the NET. When I took it, which was a year ago, I remember there being at least one medical article that we had to read. I think that's what messed me up, the fact that I couldn't understand anything in that article, and my eyes just got all blurry.

So did you guys get an article or two that were just all science jargon? The reason I ask is maybe I need to brush up on some medical or science terminologies. I wonder if that would help.

THanks again!

The two reading subjects we had were art and I can't remember the second one. No medical articles whatsoever.

They pick obscure reading subjects on purpose, stuff most people have no detailed knowledge in.

The point is to see how much information you can comprehend in one readthrough about a subject you know little or nothing about.

That's how it was explained to me and I found it accurate.

Do you have any personal advice on the reading section in terms of preparation? I feel like the more i'm preparing, the worse i am getting.

Re: All About the NET

okay i tried to post another comment, it didn't go through, but here it goes.

I took the testprep.com reading comprehension, and I felt that the content was a lot easier than the NET, which goes the same for the NET study guide. The reading material and the questions were too easy compared to the real test, and that's part of the reason why I felt like I wasn't prepared the first time.

Does anyone else feel the same?

Re: All About the NET

I totally agree about the net book and quizes being easier than the actual test. I took it once already and failed the reading portion, received a 93 on the math, but failed the reading miserably. The book was nothing like the actual test. I'm taking it again this Thursday and pray that I pass, if not, I have one more time to take it.

You and I are in the same situation, except my test is next month.

Have you done anything differently in your studying this time around? I wish you the best of luck this time. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come on here after your exam and let me know how you did!
I wonder if the second exam is harder than the 1st?

For me personally, I read over the article very quickly just skimmed it I suppose, then I read the questions .. (They gave the paragraph #) and then went back and just focused on what they were asking for in the question, This gave me more time to ponder on the question and answer.

Also had no med. questions more historical old world stuff that I had no idea about! but I did well on it.
