Well Hello everyone,

Im the NOOB! hahaha..I just registered and this is my first post n thread

Just recently I decided to do my nursing, I checked up a couple of colleges and i definitely gotta take this TEAS test. so i wanted to ask all those who already took the test. what i should look out for...n stuff like that...what techniques are the best for getting a top grade...i really need to do good on this one...

where i can find the best material to prepare...

just the thought of taking a test creeps me out ....wish me luck

Get the TEAS study manual. I got mine from the public library. The test isn't as hard as you think it will be. Brush up on general science and math. Know that when you take the math portion, you don't have time to check and recheck your answers. You will run out of time if you do this. If you can't find the answer to a question, make a note of the number and move on. You can go back to that one and at least guess later. Don't leave any blank though. At least go back and guess. No calculators allowed. Brush up on ratio/proportion and metric conversions. If you can remember
part/whole = %/100 all you have to do is cross multiply and you have your answer.
Interest rate calculations, etc.
Overall, it is pretty basic stuff that you learned in high school. For me that was a long time ago so I had to study.
Don't waste too much time studying Anatomy and Physiology. There was only 1 Anatomy question on my test and it wanted to know which organ produced insulin.
The hardest part for me was the science but if you use the study guide you will do fine. Study the charts and diagrams and learn the reasoning behind the answers.
Seriously....don't stress. It's not as bad as you think it will be. The reading and English portions are super easy. Commas, sentence structure and comprehension. Definitely make sure you look at commonly misspelled words. I felt dumb when I got to that part cause I knew I should know how to spell it. I just second-guessed myself a lot. I ended up with a 91% which is way better than I was hoping for.

Hello welcome to the boards.
There is a lot of information on the TEAS on these boards. Just search on TEAS.
The study guide from ATITesting.com is a good place to start. The information is harder than the actual test.
The big area that people have trouble with is the math section. It is not that it is so hard, it is that you have very little time. Bring a watch and only plan on spending 2-3 minutes per problem at the most. If you find yourself taking longer move on but definitely come back before the end and put an answer. (Don't leave any blanks, at least try to make an educated guess). Know your metric conversions, know how to set up proportions, and I think there was at least one questions converting cups, quarts, pints, gallons.
There is a lot of basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Also sometimes you can come to the answer without spending a lot of time on calculations. If you can eliminate answers by backsolving, that is good.
Also you don't have a lot of time to check, and recheck your calculations.
Also lets say your answers all end in different numbers and you have to multipy a large number. If you do the multiplication for the ending digit that matches one of the answers then you don't need to finish the entire calculation because you know that there is only one answer with that ending number. I hope that makes sense. You can check my posts on the TEAS and I gave a bunch of pointers earlier.
