Feelings of frustration, confusion, stupidity, anger, sadness, no energy to go on any longer, and much more. So much more of other feelings that I just can't describe. I just don't know where to start. I've taken the NCLEX exam once already. First time shutting off at 187q. and this time taking 265q and sat there for the whole entire 6 hours. I had 5 minutes left. I walked out of there feeling all weird. It didn't hit me until I was half way home (1 1/2 hr drive). This feeling sucks, again. I know many of us have gone through this whether you took only 75q or up to 265q. And the sad thing is, is that I really don't even know how I did. Did I pass or fail (again)? Who knows. I'm just trying to think positive and not set myself up for disappointment again. So if I fail. I'll just have to take it again. Truth is, is that I'm most disappointed in that I'm letting my family, friends, and loved ones down. They are all waiting to hear that I passed!!!!! Well, enough about that. Hopefully I passed!!!!!! And good luck to all that are getting ready to take it. Please don't let my ventings and thoughts scare you. Thanks for reading..........

Everything you said is how I feel right now. I took the test 2x's. the first time I had 265 q's and felt crappy. this second time I had 120 q's. My name doesn't appear on the BON, so I am guessing I failed again. hope you get good news soon.

i anm gonna take the test again this coming saturday and i am at the moment freaking anxious about it. been having diarrhea and sleepless nights since monday. sigh...been through all your situation at the moment. i feel your agony. hope this nxt time will be different.

I hope you did well on your test. I'm new around here and havent gone to nursing school yet, dont know if I want to because of some of the stuff Ive read in here. Anyway would you help me figure something out that I dont understand? It seems like nursing school is pretty tuff and to get in you need super good grades, etc., so if you get at least a B say in nursing school, why does everyone have such a hard time with the NCLEX? Wouldnt it be stuff that you are familiar with? Do they put trick q's on the test, and if so, why? Isnt the test supposed to be about what you learned in school? Also, did you take test for rn or lpn?

Nursing school is tuff, people underestimate it. it is tuffer when you have kids and have bills, but with determination anything is possible. It doesn't matter if you pass your classes with C's in the courses as long as you pass. When you interview for jobs they are not going to ask for your transcripts.
The questions on the NCLEX are a little harder and trickier. they make it hard for you to cut your answers down to just 2 possible answers..plus I hate computerized tests. Some of my classmates who barely pass the courses in my program have passed the nclex. you just have to know your pathophysio and med surg really good.

i have just got home after taking the nclex this morning i got 238 questions, i am feeling the same tired, sad, glad it over, upset that i might have failed but im trying to keep a brave face and hope for the best. good luck to you all.

Thanks for the reply. good luck to you as well. I just wish we all can just pass because we worked way too hard for this during the program already. not like we need more stressors after nursing school. But i guess that's how the system works. Again, good luck to you.

Like I mentioned, don't let my venting and frustration scare you. Yes, it is hard during and after nursing school, no lie. And everyone has such a hard time with the NCLEX because you have to pass in order to officially be an RN. Anxiety plays a big part in your ability to do well.
And the test is about everything on what we've learned in school. Basically, an overwhelming 2-3 year cumulative testing in a unrealistic world of having all the supplies, doctors, assistants, and so forth there when you need it. It's an NCLEX world, not the real world. But that's their way of assessing to see if we are a competent nurse.
And I took that test for RN.......

I will pray for you. Like everyone says, "You'll do great". I know that it's not going to make you feel any better but stay positive and stay focused. Don't let your mind slip away on how many questions that will be popping up. Expect 265q and do your best on every individual question. I lost my concentration the first time I took the test because I kept questioning, "why isn't it shut off." So I lost my focus and I wanted out, it was taking way to long. So when it finally shut down, I was relieved but I knew that I didn't do to well. I couldn't even remember if I had easy or hard questions. I'd have to say that I deserved it because I let other things distract me. Just do your best. At least you know you did it and did it well. Good luck, my friend, and I will pray for.

thanks so much sillysee. prayer is all i need. i dont know what the test will be, whether i know it or not, i just pray i hit the right button when i answer it. like you, i got so distracted when my 1st test didnt shut off at 75. i didnt take a break and feeling exhausted plus the fact that i had a terrible flu that time. been coughing and sneezing the whole time i was in the test centre. my photo taken there even looks miserable hahaha...there were atleast 15 test takers inside and they all came home earlier than me! i was aready freaking out when i see them coming out of the room one by one. i was on the first computer so all of them passes me when theyre done. i hurried up as well. and after 265 and not seeing my name on the BON site for days, i gave up and i know i really didnt make it. i hope and pray that this event that i am gonna get through will be a different one. a better one...best of luck to all of us...
