When to buy Study Material

I know it is too soon for me to actually start studying, but how far along in your nursing program did you start purchasing NCLEX study material?

I see so many things on Ebay, etc., and wondered if I should start looking around for good buys as I go along. How recent should your study material be based on when you take the test? (within 1 year, 2 years?)

BTW, I will be going into the ADN program.

Wait until you get further in your program...................the books will not make any sense to you right now.

The only books that I recommend are Saunders...............there are no others that meet my requirements.......

I know as far as studying them it is too soon, but what about purchasing them?

If I found a Saunders book/cd at a good price, would it be worth buying now? Would the information change that much in 2 years?

I say if you find a good price on Saunders then buy it. Usually when a new edition comes out it pretty much the same as the previous one with a few updates.

I bought Mosby's comprehensive review for the NCLEX RN and I used it during school.

Here is what I used in case you find a great deal on these.

Saunders - did about 1000 Q here

Lippincott Q&A did about 2000 questions here. I thought lippincott was really good at rationales and testing me on the obsolete stuff other study material didn't cover.

NCLEX3000 Newer one is 3500 - did about 600 Q

NCLEX 101: How to pass on the first try By Syliva Rayfield

ONe of my favorite books during school was "Medical Surgical Recall" By Tamara Bickson. It's a bible for nursing school.

Good luck in school!

Thanks for the list! I guess anything I can pick up is going to help, but I'm going to print your list out and keep it with me.
