What was your breakfast on NCLEX day?

Dear all

I will be taking the NCLEX-RN this April 30, but in the last 8 weeks I have struggle with my health. First I had stomach infection( resolved) then I had a tooth infection ( not perfectly resolved, yet ) I have had antibiotics twice. As a matter of the fact , I also have to deal with glucose intolerance (8 months now). My test is scheduled at 9 am, so what should I eat as breakfast?. What if my test goes up to the 265 question?. What snack should I bring?.

I know, I know, I am trying to become a nurse; I should know this, but it is better to hear ideas and feel the support of my fellow nurses.

I'd like to have my breakfast at 6:45 or 7 :00 am and take my pill, because at 9 p.m my blood sugar ( the healthy sugar) will be in its peak, so I will have enough glucose ( the healthy one) in my brain, then I am planning to take a break as soon as the computer ask me, Here will be the time for my snack, what shoul I choose fruit or a granola bar? . If I have another break should I take it or should I skip it .

Please friends give me your suggestions.

Thanks

I think only you can know it. You have several days to find out...why not "practice" it, try to wake up in the morning as if it will be your exam day...eat what you used to eat, take your pill and so on...then see what happens.

Yes, good advise. Thanks . I will be doing that starting this Monday. Indeed, my plan for this Monday is to do "a mock test day" . Starting at 6:45 I will be eating my breakfast and then I will drive to the testing center; after that I am going to the County Library and take the Mosby's CAT, so I will be getting ready starting tomorrow.

I had a bagel with a small egg and vege omlette. I have this for breakfast quite a lot and I knew that the protein would last me for several hours.

I took a break around question 40 and had some iced tea and sunchips. One of our teachers recommended a salty snack during the test break, and I did notice that it helped me perk up a little bit.

Yes, protein is a good idea.
I will try the salty snack tomorrow, and I will see.

Thanks.

Re: What was your breakfast on NCLEX day?

Ok, I did my trip to the testing center, and what I found was construction work in the route on "mapquest", so I drove 45 minutes instead of 30, then at the testing center parking spot was easy to find. I went back to the Library, did the questions form drexel and I had a " prediction" of passing.
My breakfast was. Skim milk, 2 Sunny side up eggs, 2 pieces of wheat bread and 2 glasses of water, at 7 am. Then at 11 am I had half of a orange and some salted nuts and a glass of water.
That's it for today.
I fell good and my glucose is in normal range.

Please keep sharing the braekfast menu on NCLEX day.

Thanks.
