What IS passing %%?!?!

I know a certain percentage are "test" questions, but once those are omitted, what is the passing percentage rate for the NCLEX? I have heard numbers from 50-65%. I need all the reassurances I can get....

Thanks!

Re: What IS passing %%?!?!

There is not a such thing as a passing percentage, that is not how the passing is determined.

All that test will get 50% correct and 50% incorrect. The level that you are getting the majority of the correct ones in will determine if you pass or not.

Best of luck to you, but it is nothing more than this.

I was hoping you might be around!! I'm still a little confused....is there somewhere that explains this in English for those of us who are a little dense?!?! I have read the explanations, but for some reason it just isn't quite making sense -- which is rather scary at this point in the game for me!!

Re: What IS passing %%?!?!

SO i think this is how it works, correct me if i am wrong:

When you are taking the test there is kind of like an imaginary line, above the line is passing below the line is not. So the first question you get is kinda right near the line, so your first question should be easy, if you get it right the next question goes above the line and you would get a harder question, if you get it wrong it goes below the line and you get an easier one. In order to pass NCLEX you need to get 60 questions (right or wrong) just as long as they are above that passing line. Thats how it was explained to me in a review course I took. Hope that helps you out a bit.
