I would say something comfortable and layered so if too warm can take layers off or if too cold add layers

There isn't a dress code that I've ever heard of. Wear something that will not be a distraction. And, as Silverdragon said, layers are probably a good idea.

Honestly, I wore layers but didn't even notice the temperature in the room. I was so anxious that it didn't matter. Layers are your best bet though.

I agree with the most comfortable clothes you own. Dressing in layers too because I found myself getting warm as I got nervous. Didn't think too much that AM because I was wearing a nasty stained T-shirt (hey it was clean) under my sweatshirt. I swear they must have given me a funny look as I left but I passed with 75! Still have the shirt and I'm sure I'll wear it or carry it along (good luck charm) for tests in grad school. Husband tried to throw it out but it was rescued!

You cannot wear a coat in there, but that is the only thing they are against as far as I know. Just be comfy and don't worry too much about what you are wearing, but remember that they do take your picture and they do send it to you!! GOOD LUCK!

I just learned from a recent NCLEX test taker, who happened to pass on the second time. You must always dress for "SUCCESS". This is what I will be doing, when the time comes for me to sit my "EXAM".

When I took mine a few days ago, I wore really comfy gauchos (they feel like pj's!), flip flops, and a t-shirt. I brought a zip up sweater because I get cold at the drop of the hat and each testing center is different...when I took mine the first time, the place was freezing!!! I was so glad I had a sweater. But honestly, I did not want to be all dressed up just to smile for the camera and take the hardest test of my life! They won't turn you away if you're dressed super casual.

But they do give great tips if you show up in your birthday suit!
