Saunders Coprehensive Review 4th ed. for nclex-RN explains what high level questions are in chp 1, pg 5. and examples are provided.
Application and analysis are higher level question.
You as the test taker determines what priority nursing action when answering an application type question. The nursing process (Assess before intervention) ect...helps to answer this type of questions.
An analysis type question you are looking at lab values, Vital signs,...ect.
Lab values tells you if a medication is working...
Vital signs may tell you a patient maybe hemorrhaging...
