There seems to be quite a number of opinions on the NCLEX. I'm just wondering what types of questions you consider to be at a higher level (SATAs?)

Priority is what you want to see on your exam and not see med calculations.

SATA is just a format of question, and is not necessarily a level of question.

Application and analysis are the higher level questions. Critical thinking is
used to answer these types of questions. Not necessarily SATAs.

So does it mean you see words such as first, essentially and most in bold is that high level? What about infection control? So math is considered a sign that you are not in the high level of question? I am so confused about this!!!!!!!!!!

maybe computations are considered give away questions..thats what I think

The exam is not interested in testing you again on what you already had in school, they know that you had to pass to graduate and get approval to even sit for this exam. All are required to pass a math exam to be able to even get past a certain time in their program. Three tries and if you cannot pass it, then you are out of your nursing program.

The exam wants to know that you will begin your practice safely and what you would do in a real situation, and nothing more than that.

Saunders Coprehensive Review 4th ed. for nclex-RN explains what high level questions are in chp 1, pg 5. and examples are provided.
Application and analysis are higher level question.
You as the test taker determines what priority nursing action when answering an application type question. The nursing process (Assess before intervention) ect...helps to answer this type of questions.
An analysis type question you are looking at lab values, Vital signs,...ect.
Lab values tells you if a medication is working...
Vital signs may tell you a patient maybe hemorrhaging...
Critical thinking...
