The waiting game

Hi everyone,

I am not new to the site, been a lurker since beginning nursing school. Just a bit of a background:

Married with 4 kids. Live in Alaska where my husband is stationed in the Airforce. I have been to 5 colleges in the past 12 years working on my nursing degree. (stopping to have children here and there..lol)

Anyhow, the waiting list here in Alaska was so long and I was done with my prereqs so I entered an LPN program that bridges to RN (basically like a cut in line) and will begin my bridge to RN in the fall.

During my preceptorship I had such a wonderful experience in the hospital Rehab unit that they hired me as a nursing assistant until I pass my boards. They do not even hire LPN's but are willing to make the exception for me!

Now, I sit waiting on my NCLEX results and going insane. Alaska does not participate in quick results and I keep checked the BON every 5 minutes. I took my test on the 1st at 8am and computer shut off at 85. I am hanging on to confidence that I did not completely bomb it, but you never know. I think it's absolutely ridiculous to make people wait so long

The longer time ticks, and the more I read about other's seeing results in the most 48 hours aside from California, the more I get scared.

Looking forward to getting to know you as I wait. To think, i have to take this stupid test next year again for the RN!

Re: The waiting game

Hey I too am in Alaska and also took my boards on April 1st, weird we must have been there at the same time! I am absolutely freaking out because my results arent up! I have been checking non-stop, crying all week, not sleeping, I feel like my life is over almost. I am really really upset, most of my friends had their results in 2 days. Mine stopped at 231 questions and I did NOT feel like it went well, seemed like I guessed a lot on them, I dont know if anyone else felt like that.

Anyhow I am going crazy in the house today because the weather is so yucky, ugh!
