Is two weeks from today...

too soon to take the NCLEX-RN? I graduated on May 5, 2007. I am currently taking an NCLEX review offered by my school (Drexel). Other than this review I have not studied for NCLEX. When I got my ATT yesterday I panicked and just registered. I really wanted to follow a study plan, but I am so nervous that I will wait too long and not study.

Is it too soon?

Re: Is two weeks from today...

I have not taken the exam, yet. I just scheduled today, but I think you should trust your instincts. If you feel you will not study if you wait longer...sooner is probably best. As my friend Sarah keeps telling me, "The NCLEX is much more forgiving than school." Worst case...you retake it in three months. I know this is not the best advice, and maybe not the most therapeutic, but I can only imagine you are sitting there waiting for a reply, and I wanted you to know you are not alone!

I think it all depends on you and what you know you can do...I scheduled mine for about 3 weeks after I graduated and passed...so I say do whatever you're comfortable doing!

Good luck!

Re: Is two weeks from today...

What you know comming right out of school drops faster than the rate you can relearn it in a review course. Do you need to prepare? Yes, but you need to understand NCLEX is not like school where if you mastered X material you were tested on X material therefore you pass.

If you truly fear you won't study then there's nothing to think about.

Good luck.

Re: Is two weeks from today...

I graduated May 11th. I got my ATT on the 15th and I scheduled NCLEX for May 31st. I did the KAPLAN review course (required for graduation) but before that and now I am following Suzannes plan of 100 Q's per day. I just figured the sooner I take the test the better off I will probably be and I dont want to sit around forever stressed over this test!! So good luck to you and NO I do not think it is too soon to test but you know yourself better than anyone!
