Took the exam today and sad

I took the NCLEX today and the computer stopped at around 100 or so. I have a bad feeling about it. I prepared myself for the exam and i know i failed the exam. Sigh*. I looked up questions that seemed easy and I got wrong. I don't know how I'm ever going to pass the NCLEX. I'm not good at these tests and to fail after taking a review course and studying like crazy, I might as well give up. If anyone can relate please help me with motivation b/c I know I'm gonna need it. Thanks.

OK first of all you don't know you failed.....but if you do are you just going to quit, & let all that hard work be for nothing? I know I thought I had failed because it seemed too easy, I was wrong. Calm down wait for the results. I bet you did a lot better than you think! Good Luck!

Re: Took the exam today and sad

Thanks guys. But I don't know if the outcome looks good. I mean, I felt like I was guessing through the whole exam. my exam ended at 102 or 103. And I don't think I've read a thread yet, that people who took the exam that got 102 or so questions, passed the exam. But I'm praying and hoping I did, but I know myself and I know I failed. I'll try not to give up, its just seems so much easier to hide from the world, feeling like a failure.

Re: Took the exam today and sad

I know its hard to relax as everyone keeps telling you to do, I just took my NCLEX for the second time in January and I was a nervous wreck!!! (I did pass the second time, thank GOD!) I think it's easier to remember the questions that you "think were the easy ones" to look up because those are the ones that you probably read over the most during the test. I noticed the day after my test I was looking up all these questions I remembered being asked and stressed out like crazy cause they were all wrong, but I still passed! I had all 265 questions and even missed the last one (it was one of the ones I looked up) I was so depressed cause I just knew that if you took 265 AND missed the last one you failed....Well Im living proof that is a MYTH!! I know you have probably heard this a million times but the test is set up so that you only get 50% of the questions correct anyways(b/c its deciding on what level of hardness the next question should be)...which is why we all leave there feeling so bad about it! I dont think it relies on the # of questions you get right or wrong, but the degree of difficulty the questions are that you get right!!
I hope this has helped...GOOD LUCK! Stay calm and try to RELAX!!!!
Let me know how you do!
Kim

Re: Took the exam today and sad

Dear Hopeful,

Well I 100% totally know how you feel since I just about 2 hours ago took my NCLEX. All I can say is I like almost eveyone burst into tears after and now I am really having second thoughts on if it is all worth it. Do I think this test reflects ny nursing knowledge or abilities to be an awesome competent RN. Beep no. Man I wasn't prepared for alot of what they asked even though been studying since graduation. I feel that even if I would have put the test off and studiend for three more years I would not have been any more prepared. I honestly don't know if I will retake if I fail. I have been a CNA for 5 years while I went to school and honestly would be happy to just stay a CNA. I am sick of all the pressure. I loved nursing school, did well worked my butt off but don't know if I can put myself through this test again. Thanks everyone for letting me put my thoughts in words. it really helps. My test shut down at 75 and I was very disappointed. Oh well good luck to all of you who are still to test. There is lots of good advise in these posts. Know your precautions, that is what messed me up as well as preparations for various lab tests.

Goodluck

Re: Took the exam today and sad

I took it yesterday. I had about the same number of questions. I dont know for sure because last one i saw was 91. But it was probably a few over 100 and I left there knowing I had failed. I should get my score tomorrow and I'm terrified!! There really is no doubt in my mind that I failed. Hopefully we both get good news!
