Re: TIPS for nclex pliz....

I am using Drexel DVDs and Lippincott's NCLEX-RN study guide. I also read through a thread here called " Anyoone up for fact throwing ". The thread actually is so random that my mind does not wander. Also making contributions to the thread,I find, is also very helpful for me. I find myself reading through old class notes to find something intresting that might help someone else. The more I've been reading and contibuting to the thread the better prepared I am feeling.

Re: TIPS for nclex pliz....

KAPLAN can be a gigantic waste of time. Use your CDs. Here are some facts about nursing you should ALWAYS remember:
1. In nursing, ASSESSMENT comes first
2. ABCs mean airway before breaths before circulation
3. If its out of your scope of practice, dont do it.
4. Patient care always comes first.........
5. Nurses DONOT delegate assessment and teaching
6. If it ends with an ..ol, its probably a B-blocker
7. With hip issues, leg abduction is almost always the right choice
8. Peroxide does wash blood out pretty good
9. Chlrohexidine is best
10. If the infectious agent starts with myco - it probably doesnt require contact precautions.

I think these 10 should help anyone studing for the NCLEX or just trying to remember basic facts of nursing. GL.

not silly at all!!! there are some abbreviated terms i still do not know....SATA stands for select all that apply.

These are somewhat hard because if you miss one of the selections, the entire answer is marked wrong.

hope that helps.....

Re: TIPS for nclex pliz....

Everyone else (since I can't speak from my own experience) keeps telling me confidence is key. They all used different books and came out talking about their own NCLEX experiences and they were all so different. Some of them studied a lot, some a little. I'm really starting to believe in this confidence thing (of course you have to have the knowledge too).

Suzanne's plan has copyright and can not be shared. You must complete the first tip as it is set out in the sticky and once completed send her a pm with all the information in the format it requests.

You get a prediction of your probability of passing the NCLEX after each 150 question practice test, plus the rationales for all the possible responses, and whether you marked that one right or wrong.

I had planned to do a test a day until I took the NCLEX. Unfortunately, I was only able to tolerate about six of them in the ten days between when I bought the tool and when I sat for the exam (it's hard work!).

And I sailed through the NCLEX.

For $39.95 plus tax, you just can't get much more support.

I had one problem logging in and the tech support people were great. My "clock" didn't start til I could actually get in there and start answering questions.

Good luck everybody!
Can you please tell me how can I purchase this to practice?

Thanks,
ShabbyChic23
