Sure.. I did take a NCLEX review course, and they told us to buy an updated NCLEX book (Saunders/Lippincott) and use the CD-roms in the back of the book..tons of questions/tests/quizzes on them! I like the cd-roms because you answer the question and if you get in wrong it gives a rationalle right away! Also, go over normal assesmnets and lab values... The meds I got were diabetic/TB/Lithium/Antubuse/Mag..uhm... Only got one math...easy... and TONS of priority questions...Like who will I see first..d/c first... I was able to narrow alot down to two and then it got wierd .. heehee!!! When do you take the test??? I have a bunch of questions still in my head! If I can help anymore just lemme know!!! Best of luck :hatparty: meow!

You get a prediction of your probability of passing the NCLEX after each 150 question practice test, plus the rationales for all the possible responses, and whether you marked that one right or wrong.

I had planned to do a test a day until I took the NCLEX. Unfortunately, I was only able to tolerate about six of them in the ten days between when I bought the tool and when I sat for the exam (it's hard work!).

And I sailed through the NCLEX.
For $39.95 plus tax, you just can't get much more support.

I had one problem logging in and the tech support people were great. My "clock" didn't start til I could actually get in there and start answering questions.

Good luck everybody!

Hi
I graduate in June and I have been already going over questions since the begining of January. I spend about an hour every night before I go to be doing the cd that came with Lippincotts book. I am a horrible test taker unless I know the material inside and out.

I went to the CAT website but it does not tell you how many tests you are able to take. Is this something that is unlimited? Could you tell me a little bit more about this online testing?
Thanks
Julie

Red face Tips

Hi I took the test today and I think that it is really hard to give advice. I think that everyone has a different exam. The exam I took today had all 265
questions. The meds were not bad I would advise to u not to spend alot of time on them KAPLAN also tells u that. I had alot of PRIORITY questions TONS. And only one of the new type of questions Select all that apply. Know all diseases WELL. I guess I am giving advice. I am freaking out and Hope that this helps. I took the Kaplan course but who knows how well that worked. Good luck wish u all the best

About NCLEX Exam

Hi, My name is Cristian Dan and I am a RN educated in Romania.
First, I want to congratulate you for passing the exam.
Second, I want to ask you if the books and the CD that you learned from are still available for borrowing?
I have been living in the USA only for 3 months and I am not doing so great with the money. it would be extremely helpful for me if you could borrow me your study materials. I would like to talk with you more regarding NCLEX .Could you please e-mail me (cristicdc@yahoo.com) your phone number because it will be extremely useful and encouraging for me to speak with someone who has passed this awful exam.
Thank you
Cristian

The CDs were good because I could take practice tests and see what the rationales were immediately after answering the question. I found that method of studyng (paying attention to rationales) to be most helpful. The CD ROM also allowed me to practice what it was like to test on the computer. I felt prepared for the test when I went in, but once I came out I was so unsure of everything (as is the response from most test-takers). There was a class my school offered that reviewed systems and went over test-taking strategies. It lasted the entire last semester and we had to do anywhere between 100-200 questions per week over 14 weeks time in addition to our regular studying. Research shows hat those who practice at least 3000 quetions or so have higher chances of passing the NCLEX. Some people say they underestimated the test, so it may be helpful to over do it with the studying so you go in ready to do your best.

My test covered all areas (Peds, Maternity, Geriatric) and all topics (Neuro, Endocrine, etc). I feel like studying insulin and other endocrine issues was beneficial. Also, really focus on questions that deal with prioritizing patients and recognizing what should be done first in emergent situations. Really, you can get any kind of question on any topic, but those were some areas that were helpful in my preparation.

I hope this helps. I can send you the Lippincott book in case you're interested and I think I have the NCLEX 3000 CD here as well...anything to help a fellow nurse. Best wishes.

Agreed!

I only used Kaplan. I did only 1000 questions for practice of Kaplan too. I passed at the first attempt!

However, what I want to say, no matter what you use, make good use of it. Know your stuff well. It would be nice to do more and more practice items but do review them one by one till you can completely play it with your all fingers. Always remember, "Quality comes first!"

Good luck!
