Question Question? - Study for Nclex While Still In School

I am currently halfway through school for PN. I wanted to start getting myself familiar with the Nclex and want to know if it's too early to start studying or looking through questions? Also what books would be good study guides since the test is a new format. Evolve has a new one that was recently published but a lot of you suggest the Saunders. Would it matter if the Saunders is not recent? Any other tips for trying to be on top of studying? I am still questioning the amount of down time I spend at my school and starting to worry I won't be prepared enough. Thanks...Jacquee

Re: Study for Nclex While Still In School

I used my Saunders and Davis book all through out nursing school. If I was having a test on the Endocrine system, I would take the Saunders endocrine test. When I was in OB I would target my Davis disk to give me all their OB questions.

I also found sometimes some of the teachers took questions directly out of Saunders, so that was always a nice added bonus of using Saunders to study.

Never too early to start doing Nclex style of questions.

Its Never To Early!! It Will Help You Alot. I Would Do 30 Questions A Day And The Next Thing You Know Is You Went Through The Whole Book. Tip: As You Are Doing Your Questions If You Get It Right Go On To The Next Question. If You Get It Wrong Read The Reasoning Behind The Right Answer Only. Stay Away From Example A Is Wrong Because... B Is Wrong Because Of ... This Is Where You Will Get Everything Mixed Up. I Passed My Boards The First Time With Answering The Least Amount Of Questions. Thanks To Nclex. Use A Current Book.
