Re: study guides and actual nclex questions????

I have spoken to many nurses that have said that mosby is really good. They say that Mosby have more advanced, nursing process type of questions with an increase level of difficulty as opposed to lippincott. I myself am studying to take the NCLEX and just feel so overwhelmed with the amount of resources that I have. I just think if you do at lease 3000 questions before your scheduled exam that you will pass. Good luck!!!!

No. Items with long stems (the question part) are not written anymore. If there is a long stem item that is being reviewed, it usually gets shortened. In the exams of days gone by, you'd get a scenario and then have to answer several questions about the scenario. With CAT it's not possible to do that anymore.

I used these 3 study guides only, and passed in 75 questions. Good luck to you!
NCSBN owns and develops the NCLEX exams, so it stands to reason that the NCSBN review questions would be the most similar. The style of the review questions will be the same as the style of the actual NCLEX questions.

Re: study guides and actual nclex questions????

I used saunders some (both book and cd) and didn't like them at all, NCLEX questions were nothing like them. I did ATI and found them most helpful because they really made you use your critical thinking skills and that is basically what the NCLEX is testing you on. Good Luck!!

try suddarths and brunner med surg book-cd. The cd is great some people i know who have taken the nclex claim they had exact questions from there. I tried it though for a few hours and thought the cd was great.
Good luck.

I took the NCLEX and passed this week and the day before, Kaplan results were 51%. I think Kaplan is too hard and causes more worry. The best resource I can recommend is the Hurst review. Marlene Hurst an RN who has helped several colleges boost their pass rates from the basement to the top has a course that I took and I think it was helpful. My employer paid for the course but it is around $350. Do a Google search and I bet you can find the website...

You mentioned the NCLEX questions being different from the study books--I would have to say yes, they are more vague. Don't stress too much!!

Re: study guides and actual nclex questions????

I think kaplan is really close to the nclex type question, the kaptest.com online course. I swear it's really similar to the nclex questions. I failed the first time, and i'm now studying to take it again. A friend of mine told me about Learningext.com and that's really helpful too.

Just review what you did so far. You don't have enough time to get new information. You will be fine and will pass!!!!!

Good luck to you
