second NCLEX frustration

I am taking my NCLEX for the second time on Friday. I did not sleep last night. I graduated in May 07 and wonder how I could possible do any better with all this time in between testing. I am trying to chill and just do some review but the more I review the more I find I need to review. Am I just over doing it? or have I under estimated what I would actually retain? This is driving me nuts. I wanted to just be calm and relaxed this time but I am really afraid I am not ready.
Totally frustrated

Only you will know if you truly prepared yourself this second time testing or you need to reschedule. It sounds like you might be anxious if you are not sleeping.

With the short time until testing, the best thing for you is to relax, not read anymore of these allnurses.com thread that might give you anxiety, and please, please, please get some sleep. Your mind will thank you later as you battle those NCLEX questions. I will keep you in prayer for you exam.

I also graduated in May 2007, tested in August and failed and retook it in November and passed. It is natural to feel what you feel right now. One advise....you can always reschedule and regroup yourself. Focus on one (or possibly two, if needed) reviewer. I used Saunders combined with NCSBN on my second try and I passed with 75 questions. The first time I did Kaplan and failed with 265 questions. What helped me was that I went over and over the ones that I always have problems with. I prayed a lot....it helped me. Good luck to you.

Re: second NCLEX frustration

Just got home from my test. It shut off at 196. Not sure if that is a good sign or not, two dosages and 5 sata. They said it would be Wednesday before I could expect to find my results online. I am going crazy. Anyone know if 196 is a lucky number?

No such thing as a lucky number on the NCLEX, unfortunately.

We are crossing our fingers for you.

Re: second NCLEX frustration

Do you know if they post results on Saturday? I just wondered if I should just calm down and not even check until Tuesday. Thanks

Re: second NCLEX frustration

Hello, its me again. Just wondered if anyone knew of anyone else who had 196 and made it. I feel fairly good about my test but that is usually not a good sign for me. The first time I took all 265 questions and failed. Now I wonder if I have passed at 196. I am stressed.

Re: second NCLEX frustration

Still no news. But I didnt expect to know today anyway. Its so frustrating. I guess it is for everyone who has went through it. Its harder I think because I recently lost my fiance. Its just one of those things. I am just venting. Thanks for listening. I will let you know when I find out how I did. Have a great weekend.
