Hi,
I'm taking the NCLEX on Dec 17th and have been strictly studying from my Saunders review for the past 2 weeks. I plan to put in about 10 hrs a week studying strictly from this book and with my medication flash cards. Have any of you studies stricly from Saunders with good results? If so, did you feel like the question difficulty was similar or was the NCLEX completely different? I would really appreciate hearing from those of you who used Saunders.
Thank & blessings,
Michele
Hi Mim! I used Saunders compre book for the concept but also used few other materials for critical thinking like Kaplan trainer & Mosby prioritization, delegation book. These three books helped me a lot in passing NCLEX-RN.
I took NCLEX and failed. This time I'm using the Saunders review book along with the book of questions. The Saunders questions are not quite like NCLEX but nothing really is.
The reason I'm using the two books is because the questions reflect the source material of the review book.
It's not so much that you get questions exactly like NCLEX but that you practice thinking when you're looking at questions.
I only used Saunders and passed on the first try. I agree, nothing is like the NCLEX, but it does help you to critically think about things and that's how it helps you prepare. Good luck everyone!
