Help! - Saunders 4th Edition

Okay, I have a question for recent NCLEX test takers. I am trying to study for the NCLEX-RN and am using Saunders 4th edition. I've been through the book and have been working on the CD questions for a couple of weeks now. The problem I am having is the questions seem way too easy. I just graduated and would never say I was a really good student because I wasn't and NS was really hard for me. The problem is that if I use another CD like Kaplan or the HESI study CD or others, I feel stupid like I can't answer any of their questions. I don't like the other CD's because their rationales are not as thorough as Saunders so I have been using Saunders almost exclusively. However, I am worried that the questions are not difficult enough to prepare me for the actual exam.

Help!!! Any thoughts out there??? I really appreciate it!

Re: Saunders 4th Edition

Hi,just a suggestion.Saunders is an excellent tool to pass the NCLEX.All you need to learn is in there.Try to just concentrate on 1 reviewer so as not to confused you and will not help in the end.

Goodluck....

Re: Saunders 4th Edition

hi! i'm gonna take my nclex soon and i've been using saunder's for my review. i also feel like the questions are too easy, too predictable, but from what i read here, and from the advise of those who passed, most of them used saunder's...because of that i realized that if you look at it in a different perspective, it will really help you..analyze the rationale and don't just memorize the answer..that's what i do now, i see the review in a new light..whenever i review, i asked myself, how can i use the information to deliver a safe nursing care to my patient..i no longer get bored with my review and i understand the rationale better..

Re: Saunders 4th Edition

All I can say about calling Saunders questions easy is......WHAT? SERIOUSLY? We have that as a required book for one of our classes, and are constantly having to take online quizzes that come from Saunders.....every single person in my cohort thinks it's crazy hard. Apparently, we have gone to the wrong school and not learned enough. (just to edit, I love my school though, it's just surprising to hear people say that is easy?)

Saunders 4th Edition

hi everybody,
Saunders is good only if u can concentrate on rational rather than question.I myself think that saunders question are much easier than real nclex. In some questions you even do not have to look at question for making answer correct. But for subject matter, its really good if you can concentrate on rationals.
Next thing, we cannot develop our critical thinking in Saunders
because all are kind of straight questions.Nclex is not like that, we have to use critical thinking to answer nclex question.
In my view Kaplan questions are real like nclex.I myself did all saunders questions from cd and book. A week before my exam,I took Kaplan trainer test 1 and got only 50%.It was so horrible.I got nervous.I didnt have much time.I had scheduled my nclex on last date of ATT.I had no choice. Finally I failed .
Well, now I am planing of taking Kaplan to build my confidence, hope it works.
thank you
Suju

Re: Saunders 4th Edition

i also used saunders and its cd for my review.it's really easy,as in easy.but i find the rationales very good because its easy to understand, not too complicated.after finishing saunders i answered the kaplan trainers.this practice exam is way too hard for me,but i tell you kaplans way of questioning is really similar to the real nclex.i suggest that you must also try kaplans trainers to feel the real nclex questions.
