Re: Saunders 4th edition???

Hi
I got the 4th edn of Saunders about 10-12 days back...overall it looks the same but I do see a few additions...I too am doing the Suzanne plan and decided to put off doing her second part and re do the first tip esp since I got the fourth edn...a gift from dH !!!! Though I haven't gone through the whole book, I have done up till maternity and I can definitely tell you I did notice some differences like some new diagrams and pictures and some additions in content.....hope this helps..

Re: Saunders 4th edition???

I personally thought Saunders was a little easier than NCLEX. I found that KAPLAN questions resembled NCLEX, but with more difficulty. This is just my opinion. I passed first time. Good luck!

Re: Saunders 4th edition???

I did Kaplan/ Saunders/Learning Extension... And I thought they were all cake compared to the NCLEX... I just bought the new Saunders and am also starting Suzannes PLan. I just dont know what to do anymore because this will be my third time taking the exam. If anyone has any helpful tips they will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and GOOD LUCK to everyone taking the exam

Re: Saunders 4th edition???

i used saunders for the first time i took the exam then i switched to kaplan and passed. Now i'm not trying to say that i passed just because of kaplan (saunders was helpful too) but i agree with rnis4me's post above that kaplan's Qs more resembles the actual Qs on the nclex. Good luck studying!

Re: Saunders 4th edition???

yea, I haven't taken the test yet, but I did notice I could score pretty high on the saunders tests but was in the 60's on the kaplan q's. Maybe I should end up solely using the kaplan, but the saunders is really great for filling in the stuff I missed in nursing school...

Re: Saunders 4th edition???

I don't think Saunders is a bad study tool as it does help you learn content, but the difficulty level isn't there like Kaplan. I stayed with Kaplan the whole time and did very little SAunders after I realized it wasn't challenging enough. After taking the NCLEX, Kaplan is really the way to go I think. It is a little more difficult than NCLEX and it resembles NCLEX very closely.

Re: Saunders 4th edition???

I have the 4th edition, and I love the book so far. It's easy to follow and corresponds closely to my med-surg book, Ignativacius. The major problem I am having is that I cannot get the CD to load. I have a mac and the instructions say to drag the folder to your hard drive (which I did). I cannot get anything to load. I have the latest software on my 6 month old MacBook Pro. I also tried to double click the icon directly from the CD to no success. Did anyone have a similar problem w/a Mac? What did you do? Thanks.
