If you do not have an actual license number issued to you yet, then you are not a "Registered" nurse yet. If you see your name on the website for your state, with a number with it, but have not received the number in the mail, then you can use it, but you must have a number assigned to you for you to be registered.

Just for other people who have "RN2Be" or any variation thereof, this is OK. I have communicated with 2 mods who have said that "RN2Be" was OK.
This would go for LPN's, too.
Suzanne4, is the board cracking down on this? I'm curious, how will this be done? I know of a few people who have LPN or RN and they aren't licensed. Will they be asked to change if they are found out?
I also agree with Marie, this should be in the regular TOS as well if it's not already. When I first saw this post I was concerned about my name. I reread the TOS, and then contacted 2 mods. That's how I found out that it wasn't in the normal TOS but it was seen on initial registration. Could it be placed there as a reminder as some people may want to change their names and need to be refreshed of the rule?
Thank you.

It is posted when you register and select a user name, there are three things not to do.
Use your full name as your user name
Use your e-mail address as your user name
Use a title that you have not earned.
RN2B is just fine, or anything like that, but for someone to go in and
list Nancy RN, when they are still in the first year of school is not acceptable. Nurses here have worked very hard to get those two letters after their name, or even others, such as CRNA, and to see someone use it when they have even finished a program, and have not taken their exams is just wrong.
I can't go after everyone, but if they are posting on this forum, and have RN or LPN/LVN in their name and are asking for help for the NCLEX exam, then they are asked to change it. And other Moderators, as well as the Administrators are doing the same thing.
It is hard enough just to take care of what I need to take care of, let alone trying to check out each person's name. But there are those here, and new, that did not read the Terms of Service concerning name when they signed up. If they signed up a couple of years ago, the rule was not in place, but it is now, and has been for some time.
I should not have to waste the time trying to get members to follow what they agreed to do. Some cannot read.

If they signed up a couple of years ago, it's quite possible that the rule wasn't there on the sign-up page (i don't think it was there when i signed up either).
In other words, for those people what i'm saying is, (ethics aside) how can something be a TOS violation if it's not listed in the TOS located at http://allnurses.com/forums/f8/allnu...ead-31788.html ? People would get a PM, stating they are using a title in their user name they have not earned, yet if they go to check the TOS, there's not a rule listed there for it, so then they'll wonder what exactly they are violating.

I am having a hard time finding a way to change my username. I passed boards last week and have received my license in the mail already.
I would like to drop the "LPN2Be" from my name and just change it "LPN".
How can I do that?
Thanks!!

Shan,
Send me a PM and I'll get it to an administrator who can change your name. Actually, you'll want to send me three choices in case your first pick is not available. Congrats on the pass!

congrats to shanLPN for passing NCLEX!
Members needing name change just need to post in Administrators Site Feedback reason for change and give 3 suggested names.
We try and limit name changes to those earning professional licensure and significant issues.

Seem to be a lot of shouting over a simple question.
