Question about PearsonVue registration process???

Hello All-

I went to Pearson's website to begin my registration process with them and I have a question. I am going to apply for dual licensure (NJ and VA), but I'm not 100% sure where I'm going to sit for the exam. This actually depends on where I get a job and when I start. Now, Pearson only allows you to pick one state, so any suggestions on how to handle this? Also, how will this affect my test results? Because I am applying for licensure in two different states, will the state I sit in get the results and the other state will be notified of my results by the NCSBN?

Any advice from those who experienced this would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!

I would pick the state you feel that you are going to be in initially and when you have passed NCLEX all you need to do is follow requirements for the other state for endorsement.

Cool Re: Question about PearsonVue registration process???

I was told to take boards in the state where you went to school. They also told me that diff states have diff criteria for their nsg schools and you would be taking a chance. Are any of those contact states because then it wont matter...at least thats what i was told. I would call the board of nursing or pearson and ask them to make sure.
Good luck

Re: Question about PearsonVue registration process???

Thanks for the input. I emailed Pearson also to see what they have to say. Yes, VA is a compact state, but NJ is not. The only thing that concerns me is that I will be working in VA (hopefully) if I get the job, before I actually take the NCLEX. So, I guess I will just drive back to NJ to take the boards. No big deal. I must apply for a VA license before the boards though because they will not allow to work pre NCLEX if I don't. This is the state law.
