PLEASE HELP...Clarification about Saunders CD

Hello everyone especially Suzanne :-) Pardon me if this topic might seem shallow but I just need some clarification.

I have noticed something about Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX CD ROM... The fill in the blank questions are confusing. Sometimes, when I give a answer with the exact words of the correct answer but with no period in the end, the CD says that my answer is incorrect. But then sometimes, when I do place a period the answer is also wrong. This also happens with capitalizing letters and with putting units after each dosage calculation. Even if the words are correct, the CD says it is incorrect.

Can you please tell me how to deal with these things during the actual NCLEX? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much and God bless us all.

Re: PLEASE HELP...Clarification about Saunders CD

hi,

I used both the PDA version and cd rom and found a lot of the fill in questions were all screwed up. I would put the right answer in and then it would say incorrect, but then show the same answer as the correct one...

So I think that part of saunders is defective.

Ditto. I just started typing in random letters to skip those questions and just read the rationale for them. There weren't any fill in the blank ont he NCLEX except for dose calculation so I wouldn't worry too much. The CD in general is really good and still worth using.

I have the same thing going on.
Not really a big deal, just as long as you know the correct answer for later.

On the actual ,the only fill in the blank is for numbers only. You could have a drug calculation question. Whether it asks for an answer in mg, mcg, ml or liters, all you will place into the box are the numbers as the remaining part of the answer is already put in. I hope this makes you feel a bit better and that you can forget this glitch in the saunders program. Good luck in passing the nclex.
