Oh! And here's something that made my heart stop!

Worth telling, I think

There I was, completed 79 questions, got a grey screen. Didn't change to blue. Just sat there, grey. Ok, I see there's a Next button available; once I press it, the whole thing goes blue (ok, I'm with it now). Tells me I'm done. Then it loads that delightful survey. Ok, I knew this was coming, too. Answered a bunch of questions, then the screen goes blue once more. I prepare to stand up, when a dialogue box pops up that asks if I want my scheduled break now, or did I want to keep answering questions.

WHHHAAATTTT????

I swear my heart stopped right then. Then it started to pound so hard my head hurt immediately (anyone ever get an MI r/t NCLEX??).

I hit the "continue" button (or whatever it was called), and then the screen popped up another survey question. I'm telling you, it took me five seconds to recover, realizing that it was a pre-scheduled timeout (I had finished the test in a little under two hours, and was halfway through the survey when it automatically paused). I finished the damned survey, THEN saw another screen that told me I was done, and I SAT THERE, lol....until a moment later when the proctor came in to tell me to go

I think my pulse was still popping out of my body when I was fingerprinting on the way out....!

LOL! I tell ya, it was far more bizarre than I was prepared to handle at just that moment.

I'm glad I had forgotten my 7 am worries about a power glitch during my test and it going ....all gone.

Re: Oh! And here's something that made my heart stop!

I DID take the CCRN exam in the same format, so I know about the jitters for a computer test. (although, I don't think it was 'adaptive'.)

But then, my career wasn't exactly riding on the outcome. (But here's a hint: neither is yours - there are such things as redos - even with NCLEX.)

Oh, and it told me I passed right away.

~faith,
Timothy.

Yikes, I think that would have made me pee my shorts!
Glad it is over for you, hope to see your "I passed!" post very soon.
