Re: nclexpn/nclexrn, what's the difference?

I would do Suzanne's program and go for the RN if you qualify for it. I passed the NCLEX-PN and took a practice one for the RN just to see how I could do on it. They didn't seem all that different though I had to keep scope of practice in mind when I did it. I had the same probability of passing scores on both. One of my PN instructors told me that I could have most likely passed the RN NCLEX.

You cannot challenge the PN exam, you can only sit for it if you have completed at least the required number of hours in an approved school of nursing to be able to.

The only people that can challenge the PN exam are those that were medics in the military and that is only in Virginia and California, and their licenses cannot be endorsed to any other state.
-----------------
The PN exam requires that you prepare for it, the same way that you do for the RN exam but there is quite a bit of different material on that exam, and you will need to get the book for that one.

Re: nclexpn/nclexrn, what's the difference?

I completed an lpn course in nyc. I am going to try the LPN nclex for the second time shortly. I have a nclex pn review book and I have been learning from an rn online course which my friend from the LPN course used to pass the lpn nclex the first time, that is the rn online course. I started the rn course after i took the nclex the first time and basically they are very similar. There are a few things that differ like management im sure and delegation as well ivs but overall they are the same info in both.

I hope that i can tell you in a couple of weeks that i passed using the rn course but i thought you just might be interested in what i had to say.

All the best and Good Luck!!!

Now that I re-read my post I can see where it would be confusing. No, you have to do an RN program to take the RN NCLEX. I had just graduated from PN school so I took the PN NCLEX. I just took a mock RN NCLEX to see if I could pass it. Sorry for the confusion.
