Definitely know your ABC's. You can usually apply it to most questions on the NCLEX. I didn't use Maslow all that much, nor did I use the Kaplan decision tree on any question. All I did was use my ABC's. If a question gives you a scenario with lab values, definitely PAY ATTENTION TO THOSE LABS and definitely know your normals. Most likely let's say if there was a person with a potassium level of 6, you know that you have to notify the MD immediately. Hopefully this helps a little. You can usually narrow the choices down to two answers, and if you're not sure, just make an educated guess using all the content you learned and applying it. Good luck!
