What has anyone found to be the most effective way in preparing for the exam? I'm so worried about this exam

Kaplan and lots and lots of review questions. The CD "Nursing 3000" was good but Kaplan really gives you the kinds of questions you will get on the NCLEX. Good luck!

I also took the Kaplan review course... I think it helped a little bit. I really liked the books they give at that review course. I think the biggest thing that helped me was just going over questions. I bought a NCLEX book with hundreds of questions and it had the rationalizations of why answers were or were not right.

Oh and the biggest thing is calm down and don't worry so much!! You will freak yourself out! I know its easier said then done, but really try not to stress so much about it. Also don't freak out when you are taking the test! Don't worry about how many questions you have gone through, etc. I got every single question possible and I passed.

Re: Nclex-rn

That won't be my problem...changing answers are my problem. At least not being able to go back and change an answer helps.

Re: Nclex-rn

Kaplan was wonderful for me, because of the strategies they teach you. For that reason, it's worth the money.

I had done about 3,000+ questions since January from Silvestri, Mosby and Donna Gauwitz. Sure you have the rationales, but I thought Kaplan's questions were harder.

The thing that was helpful for me was that I had a study plan. First I'd read through Silvestri (recommended in Suzanne's NCLEX plan) one chapter at a time for a couple of hours. Next, I headed to QBANK (part of Kaplan) and I created tests. Once those were done, I looked at what I got wrong. If I had pharm problems, I read my pharm book, if problems with procedures and steps, I read my Clinical Skills book.

I only went back and did more questions when I had finished reading.

Re: Nclex-rn

mosby review cards on amazon.com
I used these cards by mosby. I graduated on May 12, studied the cards and tested Nclex on June 13 and passed with 75 questions.
