I found out yesterday that I failed my NCLEX for the 1st time. I don't know what happened. I did really well in Nursing School and I never failed anything! I was so nervous about this though. I need some tips on how to prepare for the next exam...hopefully in 45 days. What really works? Should I sign up for Kaplan? Study groups? Is the test format getting harder now??? pls help

I signed up with Kaplan....it really helped....the computer stopped asking anymore questions when I finished Question #75.
I remember I used 4 hours everyday to study the materials provided by Kaplan....then another 3 hours everyday to solve as many questions as possible....it was more like a full time job....I was also using other NCLEX-RN book besides the Kaplan book....
Practice makes perfect....
Good luck!

Re: Nclex #2

Doing well in nursing school has no bearing on the NCLEX exam. It is unlike anything that you had in school. It focuses on what you would do with the material that you have learned.

Think of the NCLEX exam as common sense with the ABCs thrown in.

It is just the truth, not made to make you feel worse. We see it all of the time here. How you did in school has no bearing on this exam.

The important thing is to understand the rationales behind each and every answer. Suggest that you spend some time checking out this forum. It will be quite helpful for you.

Best of luck to you.

Re: Nclex #2

Can you tell me how to sign up for the Kaplan review? Is it online? I will be taking my first test shortly. I failed the mock test they gave at school, but I did not review anything for that test. I also didn't take my med for test anxiety which usually helps.

Re: Nclex #2

yea just search online "kaplan nclex" and you will see. I called the 800 number to sign up for an actual class. They offer online classes too. It can't hurt to take it.

Re: Nclex #2

Has anyone taken the Morrison Media NCLEX Secrets Study guide or the flash cards?
