JNJ18-

Those are good state about 1/3 of your test were higher level questions--thats always a good sign that you were doing well--

yeah, my last test i had 250 questions--80 were pharm !!! 80 !!!! i knew, for sure , about 25 or so--the rest was.....eeeny meeenie minnie moe.. i still dont see why we as nurses have to be so med competent--i mean , on a nursing unit there are dozens of source materials that one can reference--i even call the pharmicist on many occasion

ONCE-during muy last semester in nursing school--i saw the med sheet and it read "Marys magic mouthwash. PO, 15 ml 0900, 1200, 1600"??!

MARYS MAGIC MOUTHWASH ??!!!!--are you kidding me ?? --of course i looked in the med book-NOTHING--i ask several nurses--they were like what ??!! my instructor was also baffled--

so i walked to pharmacy and asked him.

what it is--is that hospitals "special" med..i beleive it was lidocaine, with maalox, and something else--and they mixed it up and called it that..

(i wish i would have seen that on my boards--i would have got it correct !!

Re: May Nclex takers...come and join hands...

I was in the June group, changed my date to May 28th yesterday. I just graduated from school last Saturday, and I'm the first in my class to get an ATT..............I'm so nervous, praying that I pass the first time. I'm taking a review next week with Frances Eason (she is a nursing professor at ECU, I'm in NC). I've also been doing the learningext, thru the NCSBN my scores are between 69 and 70 so far. I used the Kaplan CD today and scored a 70. Do you guys think I'll be ready by May 28th or should I reschedule. BTW, I just took my final exam on May 5th and graduated May 10th.. I always heard the sooner the better.

You have your ATT already???? wow! how did you manage that? i sent for mine about two days ago and they told me it could be up to 4 weeks before i get mine. yeah, i keep hearing that the sooner you take the exam, the better, which is why i sent for my att already. learningtext? i've never heard of that. could you tell me what that is? i'm looking for things to study for the NCLEX and the posts that i've seen here keep talking about kaplan and saunders and suzanne's plan. i don't know who suzanne is. does anyone know? Thank you.

Re: May Nclex takers...come and join hands...

I guess it was because I sent in my papers two weeks before graduation, and our school transcripts where sent off as soon as we passed the finals. Go to NCSBN.org for their review, and I'm just doing lots of practice questions everday.........keeping my fingers crossed!!!!!! BTW I was able to move my date up to the 23rd because of cancellations

Already answered your question in another thread about who Suzanne is. Regarding learningtext that is a part of the NCSBN

Re: May Nclex takers...come and join hands...

hi everyone! new user here.

i've been reading these forums for a while now, trying to find the light at the end of the tunnel. i recently took the NCLEX on may 8th for the 2nd time and i'm pretty much dying over here waiting. i've read here that people took it on or around the same day as i did, and got their results. so, now i feel even WORSE that i haven't seen anything on the CA BRN website.

but i did call them today to see if they mailed me the results yet, but the guy said that my results were NOT in yet and that it is "still being processed" whatever that means.

a little background about my recent test...i did NOT finish, i was there the whole 6 hours and my last question was number 181 an SATA question.

i feel so HOPELESS, i've cried so much i honestly don't know what to think anymore.

does anyone know why they haven't processed it yet? is it because they have to evaluate my last 60? what's taking sooo long? its been 6 days of torture!

PLEASE if ANYONE can help me out I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. i have so many questions (but i don't want to make this post any longer) so that's it for now, thanks!

Re: May Nclex takers...come and join hands...

A septic client with hypotension is being treated with dopamine hydrochloride (Inotropin). The nurse asks a colleague to double-check the dosage that the client is receiving. There are 400 mg of dopamine hydrochloride in 250 ml, the infusion pump is running at 23 ml/hour, and the client weighs 79.5 kg. How many micrograms per kilogram per minute is the client receiving?
Answer:7.71 mcg

Can someone help me how to get that answer!

Re: May Nclex takers...come and join hands...

my calculation is:
400mg/250 ml = 1.6
then, convert to mcg, 1.6 x 1000 = 1,600
then, 1,600 x 23 / 79.5 = 462.8
then 462.8/60 min = 7.71 mcg/kg/min
