Yes we will pass this time.... I had the same mistake with you....with my first take, i finished 131 q in 1 and half hour... I was so anxious to to get out of the testing center.... i felt like i was just doing it in my own apt....well, we all had been there, and we knew our weaknesses, so lets beat this thing...and have more faith in ourselves and more to God.

I dont see WHY, the BRN makes us give up our IP status if we fail ??!

ok, monday your an IP doing the job, then on tues you test and fail the nclex--now why can you still work ? your knowledge is still the same (or better) than it was on monday ?--you passed nursing school, you job beleives you are competenat enough or they would not have hired you or fired you soon after ?--

just doesnt make sense., i beleive you should still be able to work as an IP, OK..at the LEAST and Student nurse intern...AT LEAST

at my hospital starting RN's make 34/hr
RNIP make 30/hr
SNI make 18
CNA make 9

so how come we have to go from RNIP 30/hr to CNA /hr ??

why cant you just either stay the same--OR go back to student nurse intern ? to 18/hr ??--that would help alot of people and lessen the financial stress of everyone. ?

The point you are making a very valid one..You could not have put it any better..I agree with u, it just does not make any sense the BRN does things. They need to re-evaluate how this process works.

this happened to me. the first time i took the exam i failed and had to quit my job. they offered me to stay as a CNA (which they really didnt have to) but i turned it down to enable myself to focus on the NCLEX. also, i think if you're out of work it sometimes makes it harder to focus on studying because you have TOO MUCH TIME on your hands. i hope nobody takes their time lightly. good luck

..yes, the BRN knows this but alas they dont really care, unfortuantely because of the nursing shortage--this would be BENEFICIAL to ALL involved

1-the hospital BENEFITS because of the new influx of RNIP's from school-they dont have to pay overtime to RN's to fill those spots, Plus the RNIP's working on the floor will most likely work for that floor when they get there RN, sooooo

2-The person benefits--from the continued income, AND ongoing learning process in addition NOT getting "rusty" being out of work fot sooo long..

i had done 110 IV's in 3 months--i was 89 successfu;l and 21 not..soo i considered myself good-other nurses used to ask me to do there IV's---(for pts_

now, being out of the "field" for almost 3 months now--i probably couldnt stick and elephant successfully.

3-and most importantly the PTs benefit because of of better staffing ratio on the floor, so nurse to pt ratio is better which=more attention and overall better nursing care.

--it all makes sense, but will it change-nope.

All of the above...true true... what I shaded in bold is what concerns me most, because I've been away from the field too long already because of nclex, hoping that taking the time off would help me to ace the exam (still dont have results...argghh). If they would only let us keep an IP or be interns until we pass the exam, hospitals wouldnt have to get someone from registry (and pay wayy wayy expensive), and all of the above. We graduated from nursing school, after all, but it looks like that doesnt mean anything at all...not unless we pass nclex.

I tried applying for a CNA job at a LTC facility nearby, because I am feeling the recession...and you know what they told me...they said I'm over qualified and they don't accept BSN graduates for CNAs. So what am I to do now, be a bum? I'm considering taking the PN exam (if...) but it doesnt make sense because if I'm going to pay $200 again, why not just take the RN exam again?

In me is the stuff that makes a nurse, but until I get the license its all tough luck...

Really?? they told you that?? hmm...thats kind of odd. you would think that they would want you to work there so that you might be able to see how they operate and maybe want to work there when you get your license. also, on the other hand, they might have been thinking that you are only wanting that job for the time being and once you get your RN license you'll bail. which would put them out of luck after training and putting money into you.
