Re: are math questions a bad sign???

Are you talking about on the boards? I don't think it would be a bad sign. Itis important that you know how to do math

Re: are math questions a bad sign???

I've heard they're considered "lower level" questions. Not sure how true that is. I got 2 of them on NCLEX and I passed.

Re: are math questions a bad sign???

I only got 4-6 math questions, had the max. amount of questions and did not pass. I don't think it really indicates anything, but I am confident in my calcs, so I know I got them right.

Re: are math questions a bad sign???

Out of the 75 questions I had on the nclex, I only had 1 math question. I was a fairly easy problem with a bunch of conversions. From what I've read on this site, it seems that nclex assumes you know how to do the math or else you would not have passed nursing school.
You have to keep in mind that there is no way to predict your results by counting how many math problems you had. I swear, that nclex has a mind of it's own! Some of my friends didn't have one math problem while another had 5 math problems and they both passed. I know it's hard, but you just have to be patient while waiting for your results. Stay confident and please keep us posted!!

Re: are math questions a bad sign???

My friend who recently passed the NCLEX with 75 questions told me she had about 8 dosage calc on her exam.... When she first told me that I thought that meant it was a bad sign, but she passed in 60 mins/75 q.

Re: are math questions a bad sign???

math are considered lower level questions, but that doesnt mean they're a bad sign. they are just part of the question bank. your pass/fail status doesn't necessarily depend on the type of question, length of test, last question on the test -- but your performance! good luck!
