Just took the NCLEX RN and feeling nervous

Well, I finished the exam after taking 143 questions. From my understanding, the more difficult the exam appears the better you are doing and consequnetly the exam will shut off sooner. To my chagrin, the exam did not seem entirely difficult and I am by no means an exceptional student of nursing content. The last two questions are still fresh in my mind and I have since managed to find the answers to both of them. Thankfully, I answered both questions correctly. However, I am not quite confident that is an indicator of pass/fail.

I would like to hear some feedback with people who were in a situation similiar to mine. How did you come out if you "felt" the exam wasn't hard yet you had a significant number of questions? This is my first post so I will also be reviewing this particualr forum. By the way, great site you guys have here.

i took the test today too. The computer shut off at 75 and I had no idea how I did. My questions seemed not hard, but I JUST HAD NO CLUE. Many med/surg, infection control, medication and priority question, three or four select-all, two calculation questions, I even get herb medication question. I tried to stay positive, but at the same time, I want to scream.

My sister is one of the few people I know that said she thought the test was easy. She kept telling me, "It's not that bad!" Easy for her to say, she had already passed it! Myself, I thought it was the hardest test I've ever taken. I had no specific content...it gave me everything from peds to psych, pharm, delegation, infection control, charting issues, & incident reports. Most of my questions were high level teaching questions. I had one dose calculation at the very beginning & 4 select all that apply. It took me 2 hrs & 40 min to answer 128 questions & I walked out of that test center feeling like I had just ran a marathon! Looking back, I think the 48 hr wait was just as hard. Anyway, good luck to all who are waiting!

Re: Just took the NCLEX RN and feeling nervous

Wow, I got my results pretty quick. I logged onto www.indiana.gov this morning and navigated my way to the licensure section. I was shocked to find that I had an active license. God knows how bad I struggled in nursing school so I am not trying to sound arrogant, but the questions were not difficult for me. I am not sure if it's because I had several Endocrine questions, which happens to be my favorite and strongest system, or if it's because I wracked my brain with 1000 Kaplan questions and throughly read the rationales for both correct and incorrect answers. I strongly recommend this course to anyone.

By the way, if you use the Kaplan course be sure to use the Review Content on their website. Many of my former classmates were unaware of this feature. There's a plethora of video clips on their site in which they actually go over major disorders, priority questions, etc...

Good luck to everyone who's going through the stress I just went through. Keep studying and praying and you will make it.
