Infection control questions

Hi I know there will be a lot of infection control questions on the NCLEX. Does anyone know if that just consists of standard, contact, droplet, airborne precautions, and handwashing?
Can anyone think of other things that might be included?
Thanks, my mind if drawing a blank.

Re: Infection control questions

Each exam is completely different than someone else's exam.
What one may have, the other one may not.

What you covered in school should be all that you need for the exam, as well as understanding why the different types of isolation are used.

What is on the exams now, may not be as strong in a few weeks.

Re: Infection control questions

Learn/memorize what goes with the biggie disease processes: TB, MRSA, HEP A/B/C, etc.. and you should be ok. Think it through.

Re: Infection control questions

Learn, never memorize. And the material will actually stay with you years from now, when you will truly need it.

Re: Infection control questions

What I meant was learn the material and you will be prepared to apply your knowledge appropriately. Memorizing never worked for me either. If you have a solid base, you should be ready to tackle those fun SATA's. You will also be a better nurse. Best of luck to you.
