Unhappy Help! - I took the NCLEX-RN for the fourth time :(

Hi Everyone,

I am sort of new to this all.. I took the NCLEX-RN today and haven't been able to eat or sleep and have had this headache all day I have severe test anxiety and took the exam for the fourth time today.. the computer shut off at 180 questions. Does anyone know if what they say about getting the last question on the exam right or wrong is true? I came home and immediately looked in my books and think I got the last answer correct but I am not 100% certain. I felt as if I knew about 40% of the exam for sure and had to make educated guesses on the rest The end of the exam began to get pretty hard and I got alot of select all that apply and diabetes medications and priority questions. I know that going with airway patients is always the first and immediate priority but what if they give you all patients with fracture's??! I am just so sick to my stomach. I feel like I can't go through this any longer Any advice or suggesstions?? Please help..

Re: I took the NCLEX-RN for the fourth time :(

I think the whole "last question right" is a Myth. Look @ it this way, if you missed 74/75 questions and got the last question right, does that mean you PASSED? No! I think what I've understood what the level of difficulty of question and if your maintaining that level of difficulty.

I would assume that Fx Questions would be Stable vs. Unstable. That is my guess. I took my LVN boards and thats how I would narrow it down with the Fx Qs.

I am stressing so much too! 10/10!! People tell me "RELAX" because what is done is done. And nothing you can do about it. Just relax and I'm sure you passed.

Maybe someone else can give you a better answer... on the Fracture or my advice.

last question right is a myth. The computer has to determine betond doubt where you fall...so either above , right at or below passing. It matters not if you got the last question right. If the computer shut off that was enough questions for the computer to determine PASS OR FAIL

Re: I took the NCLEX-RN for the fourth time :(

Thank you, I believe you all that the last question thing is just a myth.. I am having major doubts about the exam again and am just afraid to go through this all over again.. I just want so badly to be a nurse and bc I struggle with such terrible test anxiety my whole life, I don't know if I will ever get there. I wasn't confident on alot of the diabetes questions and am pretty sure I didn't pass again.. thank you all for your support

the last question is a myth...my friend still passed eventhough he answered the last one incorrectly..i am very sure of that. I just found out today that i passed with 75 questions. I just wanna tell you that just as long as you have lots of SATAs and priority questions...u r good! I had over 20 SATAs, im not kidding, lots of meds, just a variety of questions....good luck and be positive!

Re: I took the NCLEX-RN for the fourth time :(

Thank you all for your comments. I think the worst part is just waiting for your results, not knowing whether to study or apply for an Rn position... I had a question about something else as well. I had a couple questions on battery and was wondering is it considered battery if a nurse puts oxygen on a COPD client while he is sleeping?

i think it will not be considered battery because you didnt do anything to harm the patient.

Re: I took the NCLEX-RN for the fourth time :(

..well, kinda--if the 02 was set really high--i beleive that COPD pt can only handle like 5 L/ max-anything more is harmful.-i'd have to see the whole question to see how it was worded and such-
