How do you know you have studied enough for nclex?

Hi!

There seems to be so much to study that whenever I get a new book even on the same subject, e.g.Fundamentals of Nursing, I am learning new things. It never ends. While it is good, it's getting scary because I am realizing that I have to read and read some more.

How do you know you are ready to take the nclex? How long did you guys prepare for it?

Thanks again!

Re: How do you know you have studied enough for nclex?

Moved your thread to the NCLEX Forum that we have here since the exam is a national exam and not state specific.

There is much on this thread about preparing for the exam and what to use.

Re: How do you know you have studied enough for nclex?

I did about 3000 NCLEX questions and did the KAPLAN review. I took the NCLEX the week after KAPLAN and passed. I would say doing the questions is the best. I didn't study material, just questions. As you go through and do the questions, you will learn the material by reading the rationale to the ones you got wrong. KAPLAN has a really good question bank that mimics the NCLEX, but a little more difficult. I averaged about a 59% on the qbank and it more than prepared me for the NCLEX. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions. Although I will have to say that when you are taking the NCLEX, you won't think that you are doing well, especially towards the end as you get the more difficult questions. You will leave there feeling down and out. Just remember.....almost everyone feels this way and it doesn't matter which number you stop at. Everyone gets a different set of questions and starts out differently and goes in a different order based on the questions that you answer correctly. Try not compare yourself to the ones that stopped at 75 or 265. I stopped at 103 and thought it wasn't a good sign. The results were up on the BON within 24 hours so I didn't have to pay for the quick results. Good luck!

Congratulations, rnisme, and thanks for posting about your experience!

I have been doing lots of study questions and review drugs this week, in prep for the NCLEX-RN in less than 3 weeks!
