Re: help with good food for nclex

Very good question!

You could have cereal with milk, a glass of orange juice, a a peice of fruit such as a banana.

Or, you could have eggs with a glass of juice and a peice of fruit.

I wouldnt recommend anything too sugary.

As for snacks, I would bring a drink with you to drink before you get into the testing center, such as fruit juice, orange juice, or water. You cannot bring a drink into the testing center with you, nor can you place a drink in your locker and come out of the test for it. (No gum or mints either when you are taking the test)

If you will be hungry on the way home, I'd bring a granola bar. They dont need to be refridgerated and they are good for filling you up.

Best of luck on taking you test! Remember to breathe and stay calm and you will do great. Dont, and I repeat, DO NOT focus on the number of questions you are getting. It means nothing and it will just make you anxious to see how many you are getting. Just because a friend got 75 and you are up to 150, means nothing!!!

Its best to not be too nervous when you take it, but make sure to read all questions carefully, and read all answers, even if the first one looks correct. Number 4 may be more correct then number 1.

Good luck!!!

Re: help with good food for nclex

I think Meghan post is a great one! Kay is your test early morning? My first one was at 8 or 9 and I was a wreck. The 2nd time around I went for an 11 am appt. We left the house at 9 am do having to travel an hour. But I was able to sleep in a bit, eat, take a shower and not feel rushed. I had a bowl of cereal and milk and of course my coffee.
