I remember the day I found out I officially passed and had a lic number I drove up to my Grandparents, walked in and said "I am a nurse" and they said "ya we know--didnt you get our card" (they sent me a graduation card) and I said "no--I just got my lic number today, and you dont have the internet so there is no way you knew--I myself just found out 2 hours ago--I just took my test yesterday" Their response was "ya we knew you would pass" like no big deal...to this day, I still cant believe that conversation. They didnt get it, they just assumed since I was a good student I would automatically become a nurse just because I graduated.
My family is the same way. I took my NCLEX today, I'm so worried about it and try to talk to my family about it and they're like "You know you passed, why are you worrying??" They have no idea what it's like, just because I made good grades in school doesn't mean I automatically get a license! Wish it were like that, then I wouldn't have to worry to death for the next few days!!!!!!!!!
