Have any of you hear of hospitals..

Hello everyone! Have any of you heard of hospitals paying for your nclex exam or review class? How do you find out if they do this. Is it appropriate to ask during your interview? Does the test cost the same state to state or does it differ? Thanks.

Re: Have any of you hear of hospitals..

I have never heard of any hospital that pays for your review classes or actual NCLEX exam, though perhaps another member on this site may know better.

I do know that some hospitals will provide tuition reimbursement for continuing your education. For example, they'll pay for all or part of your RN program if you're an LPN/LVN. Or they'll pay for you to become a BSN if you're an ADN or diploma RN.

The NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN costs $200 in each U.S. state.

Yes, there are hospitals that will pay the cost of the NCLEX exam. They use it as a recruiting tool.

Re: Have any of you hear of hospitals..

I'm not even in clinicals yet and I've received mailings from local hospitals telling me if I hire on they'll pay for me to take the NCLEX.

Re: Have any of you hear of hospitals..

Some places do pay for you to take a review course.

I know this because I will be working at a hospital that will pay for a review course of my choosing (but not the actual NCLEX itself).

If I were you, I would just ask! If a place didn't want to hire you because you asked for info like that, would you really want to work there anyway? : )
