Has anyone tried the ncsbn program called learning extension?

I would like to know how it is structured and what you personally thought of it.

I took kaplan so I was wondering if it is similar to kaplan?

i have used it and i like it.. i would suggest the 3 wk course ($49).. if ur consistent and dedicated and u have the time... ull complete it within days... but everyone is different.

really its wut u take from wutever review u do.. everyone has their own opinions, but i really like the review.... it's good for knowledge and critical thinking.. simple and straight forward... kinda subconciously guided me to choosing the correct answer...

i took kaplan last july and didnt pass... but i think that kaplan has good critical thinking (harder questions) and closest to nclex type questions. i think the qbank is good though!

they are both good and i kno ppl that have utilized ncsbn alone and passed! goodluck!

I used the NCSBN learning extension online NCLEX review in conjunction with using Kaplan and Q-Bank. I highly recommend the NCSBN because i felt that the questions were much like Nclex and the more questions you can answer before the test the better. For me I had to get out of the nursing school mode and enter the Test Taking Mode in order to pass NCLEX. Critical thinking, in my opinion, has little to do with how many A's you got in nursing school or how much of a hotshot you are. Its an ability to detach yourself and take a question for what it is without assuming or judging. I think its a PERFECT assesment for new nurses. Think about it, as nurses it is our job to take a patient at face value and not bring our own judgement and bias about them and to just treat all patients equally and YES minimum standards save lives so thats why we must at least meet those. If you dont pass NCLEX it has nothing to do with your intelligence or any other or your achievements outside of the NCLEX test center, but it might have a bit to do with your ability or inability to detach and not jump to assumptions. I have already started precepting new graduate RN's on my unit and I visiting RN students. I tell all of the students to take a look at NCSBN.

I read that you mentioned the ncsbn program is very much like nclex questions...did you feel that the questions on the ncsbn program had the same question on the nclex? I ask this because when I looked at the ncsbn website and looked at a pdf file of current nclex test plan...the pdf file had about 15 sample questions and out of those 15 sample question I swear i had about 3-4 of the same exact questions on my nclex exam. actually the med calculation question on ncsbn was exactly the same as my nclex exam.

So this is why I ask, also another board member said that he saw several of the same questions his nclex as it was on the ncsbn program.
