That is the best way to describe the NCLEX. I took it this morning, did 75 questions in 1h10m. I was thinking I'd see a progression of easy to hard and back again. But that wasn't the case! Only a couple med questions, no math, and only about maybe 10 that I had to stop and really think hard about; the majority of the questions were pretty cut and dry to figure out.
Does anyone ever come out feeling that they passed (that's how I feel) but then find out they failed? Wait...don't answer that lol.

Hey. It is Colleen from MCC. Good luck with your results. I am sure you passed. Did you think that the questions were similar to our test questions at school? Easier or Harder. I test on 8/2. I am getting really nervous. I figured out your name by some of your posts Hope you dont mind.

Hi Colleen! I'm glad to hear from you! I hope you are enjoying your job @ P-R!
The questions were nothing like the ones at school. School's questions were way more picky. NCLEX are more broad. Plus they are mostly priority--they will give you four scenarios and ask you which one to see first. Or which phone call to return first. Or which item should the nurse include in teaching, or which thing if the nurse sees it, requires immediate intervention.....crazy stuff like that. really impossible to study for.
NOTHING like MCC (well, maybe some of Dave's questions ::grin:
There were only a few things that I have never heard of! (I am hoping those were the 15 'test' questions!)
I hope that doesn't scare you. With your grades, I know you will pass and do fine. Everyone I've talked to from MCC has passed so far. Try to relax. I thought of you when I was there too---you're not allowed to chew gum during the exam!!!!

Well, congratulatlons, you've just joined a very LARGE club here, lol!

I couldn't for the life of me tell which "way" the questions were going. Sometimes I'd get a coupla hard questions (or what *I* thought was hard), a priority or two, and then wham: something I deemed too easy to possibly be keeping me on the Pass Path! I couldn't figure out the rhyme or reason to that test while I was taking it, and my best advice to anyone going INTO the test is don't even TRY! Just make you crazy

Think of it this way: at 75 questions, the computer determined you knew what you were doing, and didn't need any more, or you had no clue, and even if it gave you all 265, there'd be no way you could pass.

Which do you think it is?

Bet you'll be posting "I PASSED" very soon!

Thanks! I hope so. I know I got the last question right--it was an easy one but maybe only cause it was something I learned about thru work. I don't know.
I went out for coffee right after w/ my friend who's a nurse practitioner and commisserated. I feel like I am going to throw up. I just want to KNOW already!

*gulp*. I'm testing 7/31. All my fellow grads have passed so far--leave it to me to mess things up. some people got 75 ??, some in the hundreds and a couple all 265 ?? and they've passed.

yep. I kind of felt that my nursing knowledge was only slightly tested and my grasp of nursing process was really the point of the exam.

You have the same knowledge that everyone else in your class has! You won't be any different and you will pass like the rest. I don't have any real advice since I don't know yet if I passed, but try not to get too nerved out. (WAY easier said than done)

I had everything from meds, ortho, peds, ob, priority, delegation, positioning, endocrine, etc. all in 75 questions, talkin about random, good luck
