FL board of nursing rules...

I have taken my boards twice... and have not passed. Looking into my options... Can someone tell me HOW many times you can restest in FL... I am brand new on here, and I've been hearing different responses. I am going to call the BON this week but just wondered if anyone knew what the rules were here in Florida?

I know you have to take a class after 3 times, BUT is there a limit on retesting, or can you keep retrying?

I saw on another thread that you can go out of state to retest, what is that about?

PLEASE respond!

THANKS!

I of course am going to pass on my next attempt... :-) BUT just keeping my options open...

Go to www.myflorida.com and under search type in "nursing", and then that page will tell you exactly what the rules are regarding retesting.

you can take the test up to 3xs every 45days, after that you take a remediation course at a community college or another approved course stated on the website, then you take your test for the 4th time. After that... that is it, you have to go out of state.

Re: FL board of nursing rules...

Q: Is there a limit on how many times I can take the NCLEX?
A: Yes. After three failures of the same level of examination (RN, LPN), regardless of jurisdiction, the applicant must successfully complete a Florida Board of Nursing approved remedial training program. The program must include classroom and clinical components and proof of completion must be submitted at the time of application for the fourth attempt. NOTE: Contact the Board office for further information and clarification.

Florida Nursing FAQ

You still need to contact BON and check with them but above is what is listed on their website
