A dream deferred...

The stars were in alignment. I just had to pass this test to begin my dream job in my dream hospital at the end of the month. Sadly, I had to inform my manager and recruiter that I wouldn't be starting after I got my results yesterday.

I failed with 265. Been talking with my friends and the only good that I can take from this is knowing that I was borderline. I could have been just above or just below that passing standard during the last stretch of questions. Is this safe to assume? It's giving me hope that a little more refinement will get me above the line.

I did over 3000 questions from Saunders and the Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment book; CH16 felt exactly like the NCLEX to me. Gonna try Kaplan now. Any other suggestions/motivations would be appreciated.

Thanks... I know I can do it

Re: A dream deferred...

sorry to hear this, My first failure was also on 265. All I can suggest is practice more questions and make sure you understand rationale on the ones you fail

Keep at it

Sorry to hear this.
You might want to try Suzanne's plan and the NCSBN Learning Extension website:

Re: A dream deferred...

Hey,
Don’t get discourage things happen to all of us, and sometimes we have no control over them.
I used:
1. Sounder’s 3rd ed
2. NCSBN
3. Mosby’s CAT
4. Kaplan Q-bank, and Q – trainer

Out of all 4, on the actual NCLEX-RN test, I felt like Sounder’s was good investment for review, and KAPLAN THE BEST for type of Qs you’ll see on the NCLEX. To me , actual NCLEX Qs resembled 99% KAPLAN ! I know Kaplan is expensive, but it’s worth it . I passed with 75Qs, and few of my friends too.

Good luck and keep your chin up, you’ll get it next time !
