Red face terrified

Hi everyone.. im new to this forum thingy however i got on this last night to help ease my mind reading about nclex testing experiences. It felt good to know that I was not alone... I took my nclex pn yesterday and it cut off at 86. I had no clue what was on that test.. it was soo pointless to study cause i swear i didnt even know half the questions.. if someone can respond back and tell me about this 86 question cut off thingy.. that would be cool.. cause im soooo scared.

btw, i called this morning around 700 am eastern time and didnt hear my name so i figured i failed. Someone said to call after nine.. in which i think im gonna wait awhile on...cause i am soooo scared. any suggestions???

Re: terrified

Many of us left the NCLEX just positvie we'd failed! When I took it, you had to wait 4 to 6 weeks for your results. Think postive!

Re: terrified

Relax. Sometimes it takes more than 24 hours to get your results.

Good luck and welcome!

Re: Did not pass my nclex-pn...

Did you receive a letter stating that you didn't pass? If not, why do you feel like you didn't pass?

Do you recall what most of the NCLEX questions focused on? If so, that's a good place to start. Have you bought any NCLEX-PN study guides? I bought 2 when I graduated and studied them thoroughly. I found that the one with the CD-ROM and "practice tests" was VERY helpful.

In California when I took the boards the main focus was Prioritizing Care & Health Assessment related questions. I think I had maybe 2 calculations which surprised me! It really depends on what the focus was when you took the test.

At any rate, don't get discouraged. Like you said, you made it through nursing school!! When I graduated one of my closest friends in Nursing School (who was getting A's and B's right along with me) got a job as a graduate nurse and then found out she didn't pass the NCLEX. She's the last person I expected not to pass, but her second time she passed. If you didn't pass, just study again and go for it!

Good luck!

Saunders. Do the tests on the CD.

And better luck next time! You'll nail it.

Don't give up, try reading up on the NCLEX forum and see what shows up to help you study. Suzanne's programme is aimed for both just follow what is said in the thread about it

Re: Did not pass my nclex-pn...

How do you know you didnt pass? Did you get notification in the mail? I studied Saunders, Delmar, Lippincott & the Davis Nclex review books. If you practice everyday and do the Cd's they come with you will be ok. Davis even shows you the areas where you missed the questions. I missed most in OB so i took nothing but OB questions for like 3 days till i felt confident. Maybe you shoud try that. Well take a deep breath and be confident that you will succeed and you will.
