I lurk quite a bit, but don't post that much. I just took nclex yesterday and it turned off at 75 question. It was unlike anything I have done before. The questions were....I don't even really know how to explain them! I felt they were very very different than any question I had in school and even than on my kaplan stuff. I feel that I didn't do very well as I did guess on many of them and a few of them, I would swear there were two right answers. It was definately an experience. Right now, I am just going on the hope that since it shut off at 75 that I passed. I feel that since the questions seemed so hard that if I were to fail at 75 that the questions would seem more easy...I don't know it that is the case. Maybe the questions were actually easy and just hard to me....I guess finding out if I passed should be enough but I am also wondering, if I did pass or fail, just by how much? How close was I? Is there any way to know this?

Nope, you need to wait for your results, there is really now sure fire way (except for results) to know if you passed on not. I also took the NCLEX yesterday and shut off at 75 questions. My friend took it the day before me, shut off at 77 and found out today that he passed. Don't go crazy waiting for the results, enjoy the 4th, and rest.

thanks, what I really was saying was, let's say I do pass. Because I am anal like that, although I will be totally relieved, I would want to know by how much did i pass? like really how well did I do on the test? I obsess like that. Pass or Fail, I want to know that my actual score/percentage/grade....I guess it should not matter, but I am crazy like that. good luck to all, that are waiting along with me right now!

Oh, I don't think that you can find that out your percentage. All that matters is that you passed and are licensed.

I know exactly how you feel wanting to know "your score" not just pass or fail, but what your own score was. I dont think there is ever a way to find out, and probably a good thing, there is so much competition in nursing. "I passed in 75--you passed with 105" or "ya she passed but it took her all 265"...could you imagine if it was " I passed with 85% and you got a 72%. "OMG...no good.

Pass or Fail, that is really all that matters. But still part of me does just want to know...

There is no way to find out a numerical score for your results, that is not how the exam is done. It is 100% a CAT exam, meaning computerized and the questions are given to you based on how you answered the previous question. That is why no two exams are alike. And they will not be different if you write it for another state, or in another locale. It is all based on you.

Making it quick and to the point and that is all that matters here, is that they go by the level where you are getting the majority of your correct answers at. Each person that writes the exam gets 50% correct and 50% incorrect. Level of questions correct is the determining factor, they just want to know if you will practice as a safe nurse.

And even for those that do not pass and get a breakdown as to how they did, will only still get pass, close to passing, not passing on their letter.

thanks for the explanation, it's just weird for me to try to wrap my mind around that, and i guess i am just a sucker for pain, but I am just trying to figure out how I managed to pass when I thought the questions were so hard and although I was guessing, on some of them I wouldn't even say they were educated guesses, I truely did not know the answers. i guess i am just wondering what is "higher level knowledge" to NCLEX and where am I in there? oh well, oh well, I hope no one thinks i am ungrateful or anything, I guess i am just having a hard time adjusting to no more school and analyzing tests!
