Re: CA NCLEX Takers...How Long For Results?

it usually takes 3-4 weeks, but if you're from california and have an SS as they say, you get it earlier. i took the exam on may 5, and got the results on May 12, so i waited for only a week.

Well it's been 27 days since I took the NCLEX in San Francisco. Yes I have a SS#. All my classmates had SS# and all of us have had to wait 3-4 weeks. A few waited more than a month. It is frustrating, that daily mailbox trip because you just want to know. You heart pounds on the trip to the mailbox but hey, pass or fail, I just want to know! I feel my life is in limbo. I have read many posts where people say CA NCLEX results take about 2 weeks with all your paperwork and etc. I just wanted to say that we all have had complete paperwork (we can't graduate without everything complete) and SS# and ALL of us have had to wait 3-4 weeks and it's awful!!! the good news is that so far no one in my class has failed the exam. Then I get insecure because what if I'm the first??? I had 109 questions and I know I got the last one right for sure but I still have my doubts. I felt pretty good leaving the exam but as you wait and wait you feel more insecure, there were lots of meds I never heard of!!! Tomorrow will be exactly 4 weeks - 28 days!!! aaawww!

BTW once you get your results and hopefully pass, you then have to send in $$$ for the license and that takes another 3-4 weeks to get the actual license! An alternative and what some of my classmates did, is the day after they got their results they drove to Sacramento, paid there at the BON and got their license that day. As I'm not doing anything but sitting on my a** it is what I plan on doing. That is if you live near, of course if you live in Southern Cal this may not be too feasible but if the BON was in LA, I think I'd probably drive down because I just want all this waiting over! Of course once you've paid the BON you should appear in the computer sooner than 3-4 weeks, you just don't have the actual license and that is enough for some employers. Some of my classmates said some employers want to see the actual license. And I am still in limbo...I felt good about the NCLEX but I am not completely confident about it.
I had a girlfriend who took her NCLEX in Las Vegas thinking she could get Quick Results. Apparently not if you are getting your license from California! She had to wait more than a month to find out her results!

WOW That is so frustrating that it takes so long to find out our results in this state!!! I totally thought some friends of mine who graduated in December got theirs within a matter of days. Do you think its because spring is a busier graduating season??? Are you talking about having it mailed to you or did you check online to see if your license had been put up yet??? That is how these girls found out...
WELL, I take my test Monday (9th)... Let's get this show on the road!!!!

Congratulations!!! It is day 28 for me and still nothing! But I took my exam on the same day as you (May 7th) so it gives me hope that the wait will soon be over! But I am still very nervous!

Actually the BRN may not have had everything received. This is different from you having to have everything done in order to graduate. They do not release scores until your file is complete with them and schools do not always send out transcripts immediately and there could have been issues with fingerprints as well.. If all have been waiting that length of time then it is an issue with school sending in the transcripts, etc. The BRN will permit you to test as long as your name is on the roster from your school.
Number of questions and getting the last one right or wrong has no bearing on your results.
I wish you the best on the positive outcome that you are waiting for. You may wish to check with the BRN to make sure that they have a completed file on you. Anytime after two weeks, we always recommend that one checks with them.

I have NO doubt it may have had to do with our school! I have been suspecting that! We graduated at the end of October 2007, it took 3 months to get our ATT in the mail. Some tested at the end of Feb (those were the first available test dates), most in March, I was scheduled for March 11th but when I went to the testing site wasn't in the computer, there was some sort of screw up but I can't say whose fault because it could have been mine. I had a vacation planned the last 2 weeks in March, so I rescheduled the exam when I got a new ATT and the soonest date was May 7th. So here I am, 29 days since taking the NCLEX and still no results! BTW I went to Unitek College, don't expect too much organization but I did get through in 11 months so I can't complain too much. The worst thing is, I left feeling fairly good about the exam but as each day passes and still nothing, I start to doubt myself!!
