Hi all!
I just passed in July. I took a review and practiced groups of questions from Saunders CDRom. Just don,t put it off. Have confidence and you'll be fine. Good luck.

I took the NCLEX-RN Aug 30. I passed with 75 questions in an hour and a half. I would recommend nothing but Kaplan all the way. If you use Kaplan like they tell you, you will not only pass...you will do so quickly and confidently. Melissa, BSN, RN

I took Nclex-RN on August 31, and I passed with 75 questions in 2 hours, I would reccomend Saunders for content area, and Kaplan for higher levels, crictical thinking, analysis and applications questions, especially trainers 5,6 and 7, all the best.

Re: Any one who just passed the NCLEX? Please share your experience and study tips.

i took the test last july 13. i had 75 questions and passed. my tip is to answer as many practice questions as you can to reinforce and increase your body of knowledge. if you still have time, try to answer the practice questions again. i used the saunder's, kaplan, nsna, etc. i really can't recommend any particular review material. i tried to answer whatever practice questions i have that are available. some of them are hand-me-downs from my friends who were successful test-takers (i wasn't able to use all the materials).
another tip, which worked for me, is to eliminate at least 2 possible wrong answers from the selection.
i hope these helps! good luck!

Re: Any one who just passed the NCLEX? Please share your experience and study tips.

I recently took the NCLEX and the computer stopped at 75 questions. I got the last one wrong and know I did. However, I still passed. Each person is different as many of our peers posted. I am sure that I am rare, but I waited for almost 8 months to take the test. Most people would argue that you lose information. I will argue that if you lost it, how can you apply it? With hurricane Katrina and my sick sister on dialysis, I decided to wait and put it off. In addition, I failed OB - who would think (I have three children and had them every way to have them). I could not handle another failure. I have two B.S/undergrad degrees and in the process of finishing a masters in business administration. Nursing is another world!
Do not listen to the stories which are negative. Focus on the positive. I used the Kaplan & Saunders along with the NCSBN website. Now, I found that to be the most informative and helped with preparation: http://www.learningext.com/ This is an excellent tool. Other tips that you should really consider: get sleep the night before the test (go to bed early), wake up and put on your favorite outfit so it will make you feel good, eat breakfast and most of all pray! I woke up, prayed, ate, got dressed up and put on perfume, got in my car (prayed again) and sang my favorite song. I was calm and took a deep breathe before proceeding to click, next for the test. Above all, have faith in yourself and believe that you will be an RN!

Re: Any one who just passed the NCLEX? Please share your experience and study tips.

I took it March of 2007. I passed in an hour with 75 questions. I used several different review books, but hands down the Kaplan was the best. My hospital paid for the class, and I think that was very valuable and worth the time. Do questions, questions, questions. I also recommend looking at the videos that are offered by Kaplan with their class, I really remembered some of that stuff.

P.S. Don't neglect Pharmacology. About 60% of my questions were pharmacology - specific drugs and what things I would look for (ie side effects) or tell the patient to watch for. It was like torture, and I was sure I failed, but I passed! Good Luck

I studied 5 mo for nclex-pn , studied anything I could get my hands on, had a study schedule just for nclex. I was really nervous at the test site, my hand could barely stay on the mouse! Wasn't the same person for a week while waiting for the results but (drum roll) I PASSED! so I'm happy. Good luck to you
