hi there!! il take the exam on april 5.. im done with saunders 3rd edition and im practicing questions from lippincott, davies, kaplan....any of u who tried SAXTON Q and A?? im doing that right now?? u think it will be a great help??? pls give me any comments and suggestions....thanks in advance!!!

No, never heard of it. Took Kaplan, practiced their questions I also subscribed to NCSBN (the ppl that write nclex questions) online review course. Practiced their questions also. Reviewed nursing contents with Kaplan coursebook/Saunders 3rd edition. My advice is to have a good understanding of nursing contents and infection control, know labs values, meds, MOST of all, know how to answer priority questions and you'll be fine...

Kaplan is a waste of time. Saunders is good as is Mosby. They are changing the exam and adding alot more written questions. Lippincott is too easy. I have another good one but I forgot what it was called. I will look it up and get back to you.

I remember, Sally Feuer. It is a system of tapes, or cds and books. It is a little pricy but you can deduct this as an education expense, if not, it is an investment in your future. I remember that there were identical questions on the exam to what I heard on the recordings. If not then by then, I was half nuts anyway. But I am sure they were very similar. Another thing, do not get nervous about how many questions you get and I advise you not to ask your classmates how many they got. The number does not mean anything about how good or bad you did in general. Also, when you pass the board exam, you are only begining. You will soon realize with all the knowledge you think you have, you know nothing at all. I still do not know anything. I just do the best I can with what I know now and continue to learn everyday.

My favorite book was Davis. I used it almost exclusively. With a dash of Mosby/Saunders and ATI thrown in.
I took my test in 45min and had 75 questions. I walked away knowing I passed and I did.
I honestly felt like I was at home doing my Davis disk.
Make sure you reading all the rationals for each and every question. When I took my boards I had a few questions I had no idea on, but just by reading the choices, I could throw out a few that I knew were totally wrong and narrow it down to 2. Then i just went with my gut.
Personally I dont think you can do too many practice questions.
But the last few days before my test, I just watched movies, cooked alot and cleaned out some closets. Let your mind relax.
Also I am a big beliver in positive thought. Keep thinking of the #75. Envision a red line slopping upwards over a black horizontal line. You can do it, it is all there. You made it through school, you have done the practice. You will be some what nervous, but your at your sharpest mentally in a state of mild anxiety, so let that work in your favor!!!
